This two hour tour comes with a knowledgeable guide that will lead you in observing constellations and stars whilst sharing information about the observatory and sights. There will also be an astrophotographer on hand to assist you in capturing the perfect photo of the sparkling night sky! the guides were amazing as they are very knowledgeable. It was great to have clear sky. I doubt klook would be able to advise you on the timing although based on website the information should be released a week ago, klook did not update me on it. So you may wish to go to book with others.

We went last year in winter and the sky was spectacular! The hot chocolate tasted so good. The tour was informative. We were able to see Saturn and Jupiter through the telescope. Would love to come back and redo this tour, hoping to see the aurora. For the pictures, we just gave our camera to the astrophotographer and voila -- great souvenir from the tour.

Before the tour started, the guide told us that we can cancel the book and get the refund due to the bad weather. Unfortunately, I worry that I can’t receive the refund and try to call Klook 24hrs hotline but no one answer. The guide also can’t guarantee we can have the refund due to Klook’s term and condition. So that, We chose to continue the tour without any stars and full of clouds. Based on the refund condition, I have sent 2 emails to Klook before the few days of our tour. But no response. I highly recommended that Don’t book this tour through Klook instead of earth and sky official website. Full refund immediately can be done if the tour is cancelled by themselves. The given one star is for earth and sky’s staffs who are knowledgeable and friendly to show us their telescopes on the MT John.

The guide was great. Pity about the stars though, half the sky was covered by cloud during our tour so we couldn't see much. Good effort by the guide to show us around the astronomical instruments, but travellers beware the cold up there can be substantial

Firstly, when we arrived at The Station in Tekapo we were informed that there's a big chance we won't be seeing any stars/planets because of the cloudy skies and they will do a tour of the facilities instead. Since it's our only night in the area, we decided to go ahead (despite alr feeling the price of the tour itself is quite expensive). When we got to the site, the skies sort of cleared up and we were able to look at the telescopes (we saw 4 things). The lady guide was a bit talkative (she was very knowledgeable alright, but at some point my companion and I would just want to see more). Seeing Saturn on the telescope was awesome!
