This is super easy to get, after you exit immigration and enter the main lobby area turn right and directly across from the floral shop is where you pick this up. It works really well and is super easy to use. It is small like a cellphone and comes in a pouch.
I was able to use the device everywhere along the Sydney Harbour up to Taronga Zoo. It is very useful since booking Uber is my primary mode of transportation and there are a lot of online deals which are cheaper than booking onsite. I just make it a point to fully charge the device as soon as I get back to the hotel. Pickup/drop off area in Sydney Arrivals airport is also easy to find and I experienced no hassle from pickup/return.

easy to find the counter and there was no queue. the whole process was quick. only went to sydney and was able to use the pocket wifi in sydney. battery life was only 8hrs so you need a power bank.

Since a portion of Sydney airport was undergoing renovation, they had the pocket wifi sent to my hotel prior my arrival. they also gave me (which I had to remind but pretty fine) a tempo e-sim for me to use from airport til I get to the hotel. I appreciate that they informed me ahead of this.

I always have an internet connection all throughout my stay in Sydney. The battery lasted 8-9hrs too. The guy at the counter was friendly. The store is easy to spot as it's adjacent to a flowershop (blooming trails) and WHSmith
