Yum Cha is a Cantonese term that means ‘to drink tea.' It is a tradition where families, usually on a weekend morning, get together to chat and eat dim sum with Chinese tea. Typically steamed or deep-fried, savory or sweet, dim sum is a huge part of Chinese culture and takes a leading role in yum cha. Let your culinary skills flourish in this class, as you learn the tricks and techniques to making your own delicious dim sum under the guidance of professional chefs and instructors!
Not what I was expecting. It was no more than assembling . Great for kids 7 and up.
Class is taught in a clean and modern cooking classroom behind a small storefront. The Dim Sum ingredients are all pre-made and the class is spent teaching you how to make 3 different Dim Sum treats, followed by a lunch with your own food plus some other items they made. Overall it was a great experience, and much harder than it looks. Fortunately, even if your Dim Sum creation looks terrible, it still tastes great.
I love the experience, highly recommended for couples or parents and sons/daughters. The whole experience worth the price. I put four instead of five starts given that you do not receive the recipe to make the main dishes, I understand it could be chef's secret but maybe they could suggest some books at the moment so you can buy it.
Great, lightweight class. Don't expect to really learn how to make dimsum but do expect to have a go at making a few novelty ones with the help of the chef. It was really fun and included a little lunch with tea. I brought my dimsum home for take away.
Lots of fun to have but we would have like more cooking, however we now know how to fold our dim sum & create penguins.
