- Huangshan, located in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, was originally named Yishan. It was renamed Huangshan during the Tang Dynasty, meaning "Mountain of the Yellow Emperor." Huangshan is a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site, a World Geopark, one of China's top ten scenic spots, and a national 5A-level tourist attraction.
- The Huangshan scenic area covers an area of 160.6 square kilometers, extending from Huangshi in the east to Xiaolingjiao in the west, from Erlong Bridge in the north to Tangkou Town in the south. It is divided into nine management areas: Hot Spring, Yungou, Yuping, Beihai, Songgu, Diaoqiao, Fuxi, Yanghu, and Fuguo, including over 200 large and small scenic spots.

- Historical Evolution: Founded in the first year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1131 AD), it was originally called "Hongcun." It was renamed Hongcun during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of over 800 years.
- Village Layout: The geographical layout of Hongcun resembles an "ox." Leigang Mountain is like the "ox head," ancient trees are like "horns," the ancient buildings in the village form the "ox body," the ponds and lakes are like the "ox stomach" and "ox belly," the artificial water system is like the "ox intestines," and the four wooden bridges in the village are the "ox legs." The entire village is like a "reclining ox." Architectural Style: It is one of the representatives of traditional Huizhou architecture. The architectural style is simple and unadorned, with neatly arranged white walls and black tiles, upturned eaves, and elegant and antique interior furnishings. It preserves 137 ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) is located in southern Anhui Province, China. It is one of China's most famous mountain scenic areas and a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.
The pine trees of Huangshan are uniquely shaped, growing on steep cliffs and demonstrating tenacious vitality. Echoing the Huangshan Sea of Clouds, they create a beautiful landscape painting.

The sea of clouds at Huangshan is one of its most famous landscapes, especially after rain or in the early morning, when the clouds and mist swirl around, creating a fairyland-like scene.
Sunrise and sunset are another major attraction of Huangshan, especially when viewed from locations such as Bright Summit, Lion Peak, and Danxia Peak.

Review for: Upscale 4-Diamond Hotel
The itinerary is not precise. The departure time was not 12.40pm as stated but at 1.30pm and not departed from Tangkou but the pick up bus straight brought us to Hongcun village. The heat of the day made the driver and tour guide quite impatient. The accomodation provided is old and gloomy. Luckily the counter staff upgraded us to a better room. Upon arriving to Tangkou the next morning, the pick up bus left us and we had to pay ¥15.00 per piece to store our luggages in a shop. Tour guide didn't inform us about this and even didn't tell us that there are plenty of food stores (with affordable and delicious food)on top of the mountain. He only encouraged us to pay extra ¥80.00 for a lunch. Another thing we had to pay is the pick up bus doesn't send us to the main entrance and cable car station. Everyone must pay ¥38.00 per person to a blue bus to take us up and later down. Cable cars total cost ¥370.00 per person. There are so much extra to pay along the way. for this inexpensive tour.

Apparently, due to the high number of bookings, the guide contacted us regarding a one-day booking. We had to explain that we had a two-day booking. Then, the departure location was changed (we had to cancel/modify hotel reservations), and the tour program was slightly altered during the excursion. It also turned out that the return trip wouldn't follow the original plan, so we rebooked the hotel. Overall, the program is very approximate; the guide announces all the specifics upon contact. The guide is great, always available (Wechat), and responds quickly. The excursion itself requires physical fitness! There are some very steep climbs! Rickshaws are available as a last resort. It's best to avoid the offered lunches for 80 yuan; you can find noodles for 15, hamburgers for 15, and chicken feet for 10 there. The best option is to bring your own food. Coffee at the top is 4 times more expensive, etc. Hot water dispensers are always available.
