Reviews
We had very high expectations when we signed up for the Beijing Food Culture & Cooking Class. It started out very good. We were picked up at our hotel in the Hutong area by the guide. We were taken out to a fresh market, but not a local one, and it was the first time that guide was here, and he was not able to tell us much, so the fresh market was quick. The car took us back to our hotel area, as our Master Chef had the cooking school only 200 m from our hotel. It would have made more sense to go to a local fresh market with Masker Chef Chao, as he probably would have given more lively tur at a local fresh market. The Cooking class was terrific, Master Chef Chao was very lively and very passionated, his mission was clearly to give us an unforgettable day, and teach us Chinese cuisine, everyone loved the food we were cooking, in the very charming Hutong house and courtyard. We can highly recommend Master Chef Chao 5 stars out of 5. In the afternoon we were again taken out with the Guide to the old Beijing, but I must say that we quite quickly told that we wanted to go alone, as he was not very good, and apparently didn´t know more about Beijing than you can find in the light version of guidebooks of Beijing.
