Better than expected. Suwon is a charming little city (especially the area near the fortress), very easily walkable and a nice quick little excursion outside of Seoul. I will recommend it to anyone who is looking to explore places outside of Seoul! The media art and dance performance in the Suwon palace in the evening was amazing. The tea and dessert making experience was also fun. Last but not least our guide Jonathan was also super nice, polite, and resourceful.
Truely a amazing experience and feel that we got to be part of something very special today by seeing this performance. Our guide Stella was so kind, and she took great care with us. She created a great balance of giving us history of the Seoul and time to explore on our own. Make sure to add on the tea ceremony as it was so fun to make our own snacks to eat with it and the hanbok rental was a bueatiful experience. As well as getting a tradition, professional photograph my guide Stella helped to take photos as I was solo travelling.
We really enjoyed this tour. Cecilia was a great guide and she was able to give us a great history preview about the festival and what it was about. Even though it was very intensive, the kids enjoyed being part of the parade which was total surprised by the way. We just wish we had more time to explore the area more and have time to take pictures without being rush but over all the shows/parade/palace was beautiful.
For the price, it was really exceptional! We didn't expect to be so spoiled. All the entertainment was great, the people of the city were friendly, we really loved it! I recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Suwon during next year's festival.
I highly recommend this Klook's 62nd Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival Day Tour! The "Korean Traditional Music Performance" was the most amazing part. The combination of traditional instruments and modern performance techniques was breathtaking, adding cultural depth to the entire trip. In the evening, they thoughtfully arranged a large-scale performance and reserved seats, so you can comfortably enjoy the show without queuing. The lighting and performance effects were so spectacular that they were unforgettable. Overall, it was a great value experience, highly recommended!
I have joined “The 62nd Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival One Day Tour from Seoul" and it was great ! The tour guide Joon (English spoken) and a very sweet lady (Chinese spoken), Shan Mei 善美 are very helpful and friendly. Strongly recommend Klook tours most of the times when overseas, my next trip with Klook is to Nami Island next month! Thanks Klook, Joon and 善美 ^.^
Our guide, Seonmi Han, shared the story of King Jeongjo, which deepened my appreciation for the festival's origins and truly moved me. She also let me try on a men's Hanbok, and we took many beautiful photos, which made me very happy. Beyond that, Suwon offers various traditional Korean cultural activities and shopping streets. The ample free time allowed me to visit many places I wanted to see. The Korean female dancers' movements in the performance were decisive and full of power, captivating me and making it well worth watching.
This tour was one of the greatest experiences in my life. Jonathan and Shanmei are the best guides. They told us a lot and took care of us. If you think to choose or not to choose the tour. You should for 100%. You will participate in the tea tasting, which is the cuttest activity and then the highlight of the tour the parade itself. You will change your clothes to traditional one and to feel the atmosphere of the parade from the inside.
Thank you Jonathan for this experience! A great, funny, and friendly guide and a fantastic tour. I decided to make rice cakes and didn't regret it for a second. It was so wonderful! It was also really cool to be part of the parade in traditional clothing. At the end, we had our own seats to watch the royal procession. Highly recommended, and definitely worth the money!
The best tour in Korea! If you are lucky to join the Royal Parade on 28 September, do it without a doubt. The price of the tour is really worth it and the tour guides are super friendly. You will experience wearing traditional Hanbok clothing and participate in the parade without any extra fee!
