Higashi Hiroshima 3 Breweries 1.5-Hour Sake Tasting Tour
Saijo is one of Japan’s three major sake-producing regions. There are 7 sake breweries within walking distance of Saijo Station, and you can efficiently tour 3 of the 7 breweries in an hour and a half while listening to an English guide explain the history of each brewery and the sake they make. You can also sample sake recommended by each brewery. You can sample a variety of sake, including daiginjo, junmai sake, and umeshu, so you’re sure to find your favorite. Some breweries do not offer sake tastings on weekdays, so being able to sample at such breweries is extremely valuable. Come and find your favorite sake! -This is a tasting tour. Please note that you will not be able to observe the sake brewing process. -Participants under 20, including infants, are not allowed to join.

We booked this tour and it was a wonderful experience. Our guide, Masa-san, was extremely knowledgeable about sake, ts production process, and the history of Saijō. His English is fluent, he patiently answered all our questions and he was very friendly. We were each provided with a choko and a walking map of Saijō. At the end of the tour, we also received informative booklets about sake, which we really appreciated and found helpful. We chose to pay a small additional amount to sample extra types of sake, which was definitely worth it. We were especially lucky to taste fresh namazake that had just left the press the day before, a rare experience well worth the extra cost. After this tour, we feel we can truly enjoy and appreciate sake more, with a better understanding of its flavors and brewing process. We had a wonderful time thanks to Masa-san’s excellent guidance. We highly recommend it to anyone interested in sake tasting or learning about how sake is made.
Interesting tour to learn about sake making and taste different types of sake. Ione my guide, who was originally from Spain, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area’s history and the sake. Highly recommended!
A fantastic tour in all aspects. We got to taste six different kinds of sake from a total of 3 different breweries. The most memorable thing was the friendliness and professionalism of our guide Masa-san, who readily answered many technical questions regarding sake brewing and tasting. Masa-san was flexible and offered to bring us to another brewery that wasn't included in the package when we had extra time. At the end of the tour, we invited Masa-san out for lunch where he introduced us to a restaurant that served Hiroshima and Saijo specialities, ending the day with great food and a great chat.
