Review for: George Town Half-Day Multicultural Heritage Tour

Mr. Huang, the head of the local tour operator, personally welcomed us. Although it was just my wife and I, Mr. Huang did not treat us lightly due to the small group size. He provided a very detailed and humorous explanation of Penang's culture and history from beginning to end. He started by discussing the religious temples of various ethnic groups, leading into how Penang currently respects and integrates diverse cultures and languages. He also showed us Chew Jetty and Lim Jetty, helping us understand the hardships Chinese immigrants faced when they first arrived in Penang, and how they have since flourished to become the most influential ethnic group. The lifelike murals left us with very precious memories. Thank you, Mr. Huang, for the detailed tour. We wish you good health, a prosperous business, and peace for your family. We highly recommend this tour; in just four hours, you'll gain a thorough understanding of Penang.

Review for: George Town Half-Day Multicultural Heritage Tour

To gain a deeper understanding of Penang, I specifically joined the half-day tour this time. Especially with guide Huang's explanation and leadership, I have a greater understanding of Penang. Wandering in the alleys rich in various ethnic groups, coupled with the historical stories told by guide Huang, added a lot of fun and memories to this trip. From mosques to Kuan Yin temples, to Catholic churches, and Indian temples, the commercial atmosphere of the Clan Jetty Chew, the simple and quiet Clan Jetty Lim, and the Clan Jetty Tan, where internet celebrities gather to check in; the main murals in the mural street, through guide Huang's explanation, have become valuable paintings, and also evoke some childhood memories. Walking on the historically rich streets feels like going back to Taiwan in the 1950s and 60s. I hope I can bring my parents here next time 😍. Thank you to our guide Huang for accompanying us throughout the journey and explaining everything!

Review for: Georgetown Night Walk - Group Tour

Eric's Japanese guide was excellent. The night tour went by in a flash. It's hot and tiring to walk around during the day, but this tour starts at 4 PM, so you can explore without feeling the heat. I learned a lot about Penang's history and culture, the differences between the island and the mainland, and the fusion of Islam, Indian, and Chinese influences. If you've come all the way here, I think it's more fun to have a guide. Be sure to take a tour and enjoy your trip.

Review for: Georgetown Night Walk - Group Tour

Group size: 2 people Tour guide: Mr. Huang Attractions along the way: Kapitan Jining Mosque, Guanyin Pavilion, St. George's Church, Little India, Fire Station, Xingzhou Bridge, Haikeng Food Center, Mural Street Rest: Haikeng Food Center Tour guide Mr. Huang is worthy of being a 30-year old tour guide, with rich experience, sufficient knowledge reserves, and humorous words. He took us to walk slowly in the ruins area, chatting while walking, seeing many different scenery, and hearing many different stories. The whole process was very careful about our physical distribution, and we were not particularly tired.

As we only speak Japanese, we were accompanied by a Chinese-speaking guide. Although Japanese was not available as an option on the application website, the guide was very considerate and we were able to leave everything to him with peace of mind, making for a very fulfilling tour. I was also impressed by how he was always so considerate of my elderly mother. He showed us the famous wall art and took perfect photos. It was a very satisfying tour. Thank you, Alice!

Review for: George Town Half-Day Multicultural Heritage Tour

Our half-day in George Town, Penang, became exceptionally precious because of this treasure of a local guide. Strolling among the century-old shophouses, we listened to the guide tell stories that spanned mountains and seas. The collision of Eastern and Western architecture, the charm of Nanyang culture, and the romance of street murals all came to life in his vivid explanations. He took us through lesser-known, niche streets, allowing us to experience the most authentic local life. Every story he shared, every culinary discovery, filled the trip with surprises. There was no rushing through the sights; instead, we had an immersive cultural encounter, accompanied by a gentle and professional guide. He truly helped me understand the romance and depth of George Town. This half-day tour is the most unforgettable memory of my Penang trip. Thank you to our guide, Mr. Wong, for his companionship and explanations throughout!

Eric was entertaining and informative. He generously used English even if the tour was in Chinese. He went the extra mile by bringing us to a great bak kut teh restaurant fulfilling my husband’s craving. He will give you a taste of Malaysian English which is so interesting to hear. I recommend him even to those who prefer English. Lily

I initially thought it would be a long tour, but thanks to the fluent Japanese of the Chinese guide, time flew by. As a resident of Penang, they shared a lot about Penang, from its history to recent developments, making it a very enjoyable experience.
