Our guide, Leo, is an optimistic and enthusiastic guide that made us laugh while also teaching us about Taiwan's history in Wanhua District previously known as 'Bangka' or 'Monga' and the Longshan temple with the many gods and godesses and how people worship them. He's very knowledgeable with the topics and we were able to learn a lot and have fun with him.
we got a lot out of the tour and didn’t expect to see and learn so much of the area. made a big difference visiting all the stops with someone who knows her stuff. would take a similar tour in future.
Leo is very informative about the history and culture of taiwan specifically the longshan temple tour! 🫰🏼
I really enjoyed this walking tour. It was much more than just a visit to Longshan Temple—it was a great introduction to Taipei's history and culture. The guide explained the history of the neighborhoods surrounding the temple, and we walked through Dihua Old Street and some of the oldest streets in Taipei, learning about how the city developed over time. It gave me a much deeper appreciation of the area than I would have had exploring on my own. When we arrived at Longshan Temple, the guide explained the different deities, their significance, and even how to properly pray according to local traditions. As a first-time visitor to Taiwan, I found this especially valuable because it helped me understand what I was seeing and gave me the confidence to respectfully visit other temples throughout my trip. If you're interested in Taiwanese history, culture, and religion, I highly recommend this tour. It's informative, well-paced, and a wonderful way to experience a different side of Taipei.
The Longshan walking tour was an unforgettable experience that brought history and culture to life. Our guide (RORO) was knowledgeable and engaging, providing fascinating insights into the Longshan Temple, its architecture, and the rituals practiced there. The tour also explored the surrounding area, highlighting hidden gems like traditional markets, historic streets, and local eateries. The pace was relaxed, allowing ample time to soak in the atmosphere, ask questions, and take photos. The blend of spirituality, history, and local flavor made the tour both educational and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a deeper connection to Taipei’s rich heritage.
Insightful tour that left us feeling “time flies — how have 2 hours already passed?” Our friendly guide Ale infuses her storytelling with a great sense of humor, keeping us amused throughout. Amazed by her wealth of knowledge about Taiwan’s history as a Colombian. If you enjoy her or other guides’ service on this tour, you may feel free to tip them, typically around 400-600 TWD.
