Reviews
We had such a wonderful experience visiting a traditional cheese farm in Edam and exploring the beautiful village of Volendam. Everything felt so authentic—from learning about the cheese-making process to tasting some of the freshest and most delicious cheeses. 🧀 Volendam was absolutely charming, with its scenic views and cozy atmosphere. We also had one of the best lunches there—definitely a highlight of the trip! 😋 A special mention to our guide, Rob, who made the experience even more memorable. He was very eloquent, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about the places we visited. You can really feel his passion for sharing the history and culture. And the cherry on top? Seeing the famous windmills—it truly completed the whole Dutch experience! 🌬️✨ Overall, a perfect tour—highly recommended! 5/5 🫶🏼

### Review of the Zaanse Schans, Edam, and Marken Guided Tour from Amsterdam Embarking on the guided tour from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans, Edam, and Marken was an enriching and delightful experience that highlighted the charm and history of the Dutch countryside. This tour offered a perfect blend of natural beauty, traditional craftsmanship, and cultural heritage, making it an essential excursion for anyone visiting Amsterdam. #### Zaanse Schans The tour began at Zaanse Schans, a picturesque village on the banks of the Zaan River, famous for its well-preserved historic windmills and houses. Walking through the village felt like stepping back in time, with each windmill telling its own story. The demonstration of traditional crafts such as wooden shoe carving was particularly fascinating, offering insight into Dutch artisanal traditions. The scenic beauty of the area, combined with the gentle hum of the windmills, provided a peaceful and photogenic start to the day. #### Edam Next, the tour took us to the charming town of Edam, which is world-renowned for its cheese. Strolling through the quaint streets lined with beautiful old buildings was a visual treat. The highlight was undoubtedly the visit to a local cheese shop, where we sampled various types of the famous Edam cheese. Learning about the cheese-making process and the history of this iconic Dutch product added a flavorful and educational touch to the visit. #### Cheese Farm The visit to a traditional cheese farm was an engaging and enjoyable part of the tour. Here, we saw firsthand the process of cheese-making, from curdling and draining to pressing and maturing. Tasting freshly made cheese right at the source was a delightful experience for all the senses. #### Volendam Volendam, a picturesque fishing village known for its colorful wooden houses and the old fishing boats in its harbor, was another highlight of the tour. The village's vibrant waterfront, bustling with cafes and souvenir shops, offered a lively atmosphere. Our visit included a stop at a local restaurant where we tried some freshly caught fish, an absolute must when in Volendam. #### Marken Our final stop was Marken, a serene island connected to the mainland by a causeway. The tranquility of Marken, with its narrow lanes and distinctive wooden houses built on stilts, provided a stark contrast to the bustling energy of Volendam.
