Reviews
This was a great experience. We went with the higher end Furisode options with my wife and did not regret it. The renting experience was very streamlined. The selection of kimomo, the wearing, hairstyle and makeup was done efficiently. Staff was very friendly. Do plan for 2 hours for the renting process if you need hair style and makeup.
Renting a kimono is an incredible experience 👘 Finding the agency is easy ( well described how to get there) , service is outstanding ( English speaking) , many many kimonos 👘 to choose from. Dressing ladies are very skillful and quick, they know how to dress you and tied u up with obi belt ( many choices). You get the socks and slippers to choose from ( all sizes) and a bag . Off you go. The rest is up to you where you choose to go. Return just before 5:30pm. Excellent service and 5 stars for the agency . Highly recommended 🙏
It was our first time wearing the Kimono but sorry the weather was hot so we were encouraged to wear the Yukata. It was so cute of us to be wearing a Japanese traditional costume.
I had a wonderful experience at Yumeyakata, where I rented a kimono and took the Higashiyama course photo package. The staff was incredibly helpful, making the kimono selection and dressing process smooth and enjoyable. The kimono itself was beautiful, and the photographer captured stunning shots of me in the charming Higashiyama area. It was a perfect way to experience traditional Kyoto and create lasting memories. Highly recommend Yumeyakata for anyone looking for an authentic kimono experience in Kyoto!
The staff and photographer Yoko Yamamoto were very professional, there were many kimono styles to choose from, and the hair styles were beautifully designed. We had an unforgettable photo shoot!
It is recommended to make an appointment earlier. My mother and I made an appointment at 9:30, and there were already 1-2 groups of guests when we arrived. Some of the shop assistants can speak Cantonese and Mandarin, making communication easy. They can also suggest kimono choices. The store has space to store your own luggage and shoes, but you may consider bringing your shoes when going out, because wearing clogs all day long is too tiring and uncomfortable.
The ladies working there are very professional when dressing up my son and me, while my wife had her hair done and make up done. The system is good as they know where your things were. Ony thing is the shoe provided is a little painful for the legs. The photographer came and is very helpful and friendly throughout the whole 1 hour photo taking. As we took the cab back with him, the return trip to studio to dress down is free. Will recommend for people who likes to have photos taken for some special occasion. For me, it is my wife's birthday. :)
Variety of choices of Kimono is available. Recommended to come early to avoid crowd. Upgraded little money for hair pin as accessory. Various choices of kimono styles. It is recommended to come early to avoid the crowds. I added a little money to buy hairpins as hair accessories.
Really nice place with lots of beautiful kimono options to choose from! The staff was lovely and very efficient, they even helped me pick the color for the obi since I couldn’t decide, haha. It was such a great experience overall! The location is also super convenient, very close to Gion and many beautiful spots for photos and to walk around.
very attentive ladies! kimono was beautiful! she did amazing job with my hair, even though they are probably not used to curly hairs.
