great value and a good location - you can walk to anything you would want to do in ghent. property is well mainted and we had a great stay!

We stayed for one night checked in late and out early and my son was bitten over a dozen times during the night all over his body. The hotels response was rather inappropriate and concerning. See below: They refused to offer any compensation and asserted that we should have known to purchase repellent from the vending machine. We have traveled all over Europe and never experienced this type of treatment. We were not told at check-in that this may occur and never dreamed of purchasing repellent from a vending machine. They do not care about their guests or their comfort and their lack of empathy is appalling. Even worse Expedia was not willing to offer compensation besides a $25 one key credit. We are no longer customers of Expedia and highly recommend travelers avoid this hotel at all costs. Shame on you Gateway Ghent and Expedia for not providing a safe experience for your guests. Hotels Response: (I understand that it is unpleasant to be bitten by insects during your stay; however, we believe this is characteristic of the current season. Because we are fully aware of this issue, we provide a stock of protective sprays in our vending machines. In this case, we do not feel that compensation is applicable. Great room, great hosts, great breaky, great location. Cool views.

The character and cleanliness was amazing. Unfortunately we stayed in a recent heat wave and with no air conditioning it was hot but we were able to ask the front desk for an extra fan which was a life saver. Really good place to stay - quiet and easy to get everywhere. Would stay here again for sure despite the heat wave

Lovely clean studio with high quality fittings. Reception area was a comfortable place to chill and read a book. A cool oasis in the middle of a heatwave.

This was a great place to stay in gent

Nice big rooms. Friendly and helpful front desk , clean , safe in a great location . Kitchen area functional w sitting areas. Furniture wasn’t the most comfortable and bed up against wall a little difficult for us older people. Would stay again .

Great location. The Queen Studio for five was perfect for the two of us — spacious, comfortable, and definitely worth recommending if you have the budget. The bed was very comfortable and the room felt big enough to properly relax in. Check-in and check-out were both quick and smooth, and we really appreciated being allowed to check in early. There’s also a vending machine and plenty of lockers available, which was convenient. Only downside was the limited amenities: small 40ml bottles of shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, plus only USB outlets by the bed, so we had to use the kitchenette sockets for charging.

The property is centrally located with sights, shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance and good links to public transport. We had a de luxe studio which was clean, comfortable and well maintained. It was compact but with adequate space for two people for a few days. Because we were on a short break we went out sightseeing the whole day and out to dinner in the evening so we only had breakfast, but there was adequate equipment to make basic meals. It was quiet at night. After checkout lockers were available to store our luggage until it was time for our train. The reception staff were helpful, professional and approachable.
