This was our second time at the Reef Resort and we will deifnitely be back. The rooms are always super clean and the hot pool and spa are amazing. Such a great place for a family holiday, we all love it!
This time we hired the bikes they had on offer and rode around the edge of the lake, stopping off at 2 Mile Yacht club for a drink. It was a perfect way to spend the afternoon and to hire bikes for our entire family of four for $20 was great value.

Everything was fantastic here. My hubby and I had a few days at the Reef Resort and found it very relaxing. The pool is lovely and very warm in winter. Staff were friendly too. We will be back!!! Can’t recommend this place enough 👍😊

You can only turn into the driveway from one direction so it meant we had to u-turn to get in. There is no lifts so needed to use stairs with suitcases.
Staff was lovely and friendly, and the view was gorgeous!

We had a fantastic stay at The Reef Resort in Taupō. The location right on the lakefront was beautiful, with amazing views (the sunset and Mt Ruapehu were especially pretty) and easy access to walking tracks and town. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and both the thermal plunge pool and in-room spa were a real highlight after a day exploring the area (the main pool was out of action for re-painting, however this didn't bother us and we were offered free use of a sister complex pool not far away).
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the entire complex was well maintained, clean and quiet.
Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable stay — we’d happily return and would definitely recommend it to others visiting Taupō.
