The hotel was a block away from the Air Train (no turns; just a straight walk once you exit). The area was safe as I got off the air-train at 10:45pm. As a single female traveler , I was concerned with walking to the hotel at that time. It took less than 2 minutes for me to arrive at the hotel. There were no safety concerns. Stores and restaurants are within walking distance. I also walked to Jamaica Avenue to do some shopping the next day. It took me about 15 minutes to walk to the stores and that was at a slow pace.

The hotel location is very convenient if arriving at JFK airport. We took the air train into Jamaica with our 3 large suitcases and 2 carryons and paid on exiting at Jamaica by swiping Apple Pay on our phones, no ticket required. When you exit the station, take a left and walk about 7min (350m, maybe 5 blocks). We managed to pull all our bags without problems. Yes, there’s people “hanging out” along the way but we didn’t feel unsafe at anytime and no one bothered us despite obviously looking like tourists! I don’t know if this hotel is a new build or renovated hotel but it was very tidy in the room with lots of storage, a fridge, microwave, coffee machine and alarm clock. Also lots of USB plugs and a desk. The bathroom was very clean with spare towels and Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion were provided. Free breakfast was supplied: cinnamon rolls, toast, bagels, cream cheese, jams, scrambled eggs, omelette with cheese, potatoes, bacon, cereal, apples, mandarins, yogurt, juices, coffee and tea. The area was clean and well stocked. The staff were very nice and welcoming. No complaints and would stay there again for an overnight stay. We landed at 7:30pm and 1 hour later, we were already at the hotel by airtrain and short walk. The next morning, we walked back to the train station and took the LIRR into Grand Central station (20min), again, no problems with all our multiple suitcases and much cheaper than taxi (about $100 from JFk airport into Manhattan).

Floor in room was sticky, no real place to sit in lobby, room a/c was very loud, night staff was a dud, day staff was good

Arrived after 10pm, could not find parking within 3 blocks and would not have felt safe walking to hotel with our bags. There were people hanging outside the hotel as if it was the normal hangout spot. Circled for half an hour trying to find parking and at that point decided it was safer to go sleep in car at the airport parking. Didnt check in and didnt receive money back.

Clean room and accesible location

The open “safe haven” room next to my room had unstable and homeless people openly using drugs. The entire floor smelled like weed and had people yelling throughout the night.it was being used as a shelter. I would NEVER stay here again.
