We always love it. Mainly because of the price. Very reasonable. I dont think we would pay more though as it is very basic.

We were allocated room G3 on the ground floor. Just opposite the rooms G1-G4 was the general toilets also just down the corridor was the staff access doors. The doors had no soft close and were continually banging, this continued until 3:05 am and resumed at 0700. We were then moved to a new room on the 4th floor, nice and quiet. Java coffee shop closed at 5:30 no where to get a coffee, only that in the room. Would be nice to have access to alternative drink to alcohol after 5:30.

..not very clean at all and very dated

Could be stunning but clearly in need of updating everything from the paintwork to the lifts. Staff were so defensive with other guests that were clearly right to complain, No staff to be found when looking on three different occasions to request more than two tea bars for a three night stay, didn’t want to eat there just in case. Bags of rubbish left to be opened by the gulls on the terrace bar, and furniture so old I got a nasty splinter. Complete cheek to charge what they did for our stay. Would not recommend unless you were desperate for a bed.

100s of bedrooms but only 2/3 lifts that only hold 3 people which then broke down. 18 minute queue for a drink, 20 minutes for a queue to check in. Dirty glasses everywhere. A double bedroom with 1 cup and 1 teabag. Empty soapbox in the shower so had to get out and use handwashing from the sink.An absolute warren down in the bottom floor with dangerously poor signage and in the event of fire well it doesn’t bear thinking about. Felt the staff were good but in very difficult conditions.

The room look like a building site. Plasterwork cracked paint work flacky. Bathroom there was little room betwheen the toilet and shower.yesterday morning after the toilet l found thè mess coming up the shower drain.l will not be staying there again.

Not a great experience, had to queue for a while to check in, even though I had checked in online previously and paid for an early check in, as there was only one member of staff on. Hotel looks tired and neglected, I won't be staying there again.

Overall our stay as family of 4 was great. We had large room with sea view. The room was clean and specious. Staff very helpful and funny, breakfast spot on but I missed some cakes- large restaurant and view on sea, hillarious! Lovely evening entartaiment. Everything great but window in room require deep cleaning :) This is beautiful historic building!!! Highly recommend family sea view room executive !

This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've ever had. With exception to the reception area, the hotel is run-down, dilapidated, and filthy, with an obvious lack of maintenance and cleanliness throughout,. The entrance way on our arrival, was strewn with litter, and I feel now, it set the scene as to what was to come. The room was in poor condition, and the overall environment felt neglected and far below an acceptable standard, and all of the lifts bar one were out of service. The breakfast was equally disappointing. It tasted as though the cheapest ingredients were used, with little care taken over quality, freshness, or presentation. It was bland and entirely inedible. Don't even ask about the coffee....... To make matters worse, most of the staff were abrupt, unfriendly, and unhelpful. Rather than making guests feel welcome, (apart from Barbara), interactions often felt like an inconvenience, and requests for assistance were met with little interest or courtesy. Overall, the experience was extremely poor and certainly not worth the money. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and enjoyable hotel stay. It certainly did not live up to it's name.......

There were hairs all over the bathroom. No coffee, milk or sugar. One of the sugar sachets was half used and the top twisted over it. Curtains hanging off. 2 out of 3 lifts up to 5th floor not working, long wait. No clear signage to room 601. Had to call reception using mobile phone to find room. Was told we could have used phones in the corridor however, the sign above the phone said ‘for emergency use’.
