Our experience at Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets was disappointing. When we arrived, the front desk told us to come back around 5:00 PM because no rooms were available, even though our room had already been fully paid for in advance. We had just travelled from Toronto to Calgary by flight and then driven from Calgary to Banff with our family, including our one-year-old baby. It was raining, and being asked to leave the hotel and return later after such a long journey was very frustrating. I explained that we couldn’t simply roam around in the rain with a one-year-old child. Thankfully, another front desk staff member understood our situation and helped us, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the initial interaction left us feeling unwelcome. Because my father wears a turban, I couldn’t help but wonder whether we were treated differently. I can’t say for certain that this was the reason, but it is how the experience made us feel, and it was upsetting. As for the hotel itself, the location is convenient, and the water slides, hot tub, and sauna are great for families. However, the rooms are quite small, some furniture (including the table) was damaged, and the overall cleanliness and maintenance could be improved. The room was old but very clean and a great location.

The perfect family friendly resort. The waterslides and play zone exceeded our expectations, our kids had a blast. The chalet style accommodations were perfect for cooking our own meals and having our own space. Things in the room could use maintenance (eg two burners weren't working, dining bench cushions were ripped) but it wasn't anything that hindered our stay. The five minute bus ride into was so easy and the free bus tickets were appreciated. We saw wildlife right outside our rooms. The staff were kind. It's expensive but so is everything in Banff and I think we got great value for our money there.

Good location for the airport. Very clean and well maintained.

The place look like it was 100 years old the Flora duct tape on it and it just looked terrible there

Furniture in room was ripped, Outside of fridge looked like it had never been cleaned, and was so banged up Cob webs in corners Pair of socks left in closet behind recycling bin

We had a wonderful stay at Douglas Fir. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location with free access to local buses. Great aquacentre. The room is older style but clean and functional, with daily room service. The layout was suitable for our party. We were lucky to have a room with a gorgeous view of the mountain. The bed was comfortable and we all had good sleep during our 4 night stay. It is a good deal in Banff area. We will book it again and highly recommend to others.

Le parc aquatique est super pour la famille. Le genre de chalet/appartement est assez grand pour 6 à 7 personnes, alors à 5 c'était super. Vraiment un super endroit, Juste ajuster l'eau chaude qui reste toujours du sport.
