Friendly staff, Good food at restaurant and very reasonably priced. Great location, I felt safe. No issues whatsoever. First time in Rio, would definitely stay here again. 10/10 would recommend

Nice hotel, pleasant helpful staff at check in. Comfy bed, good breakfast, nice pool area with great views. My only issue was the windows in our room were so dirty it ruined the amazing view, which was the rooms selling point.

We stayed at PortoBay for a 6 nights and it was super. Nothing to fault. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooftop pool was beautiful, clean and amazing views. Would stay again!

I will start by saying the hotel was in a great location. Being right there on Ipanema beach and just steps away from the beach. It was located near many restaurants and local stores. The staff were welcoming and all were very helpful throughout my stay, making me feel like I was on vacation. However, I have stayed at many hotels and the amount of money I spent on the Lux Vista Mar Panoramico was not worth it. The room had this weird smell. It smelled like urine. The room was very outdated. The only thing good about the room was the view. Also, there was construction going on so from bright and early every morning on my vacation, I could hear banging and knocking. The walls are very thin, you can hear people talking on the beach, playing music all night and the room is on the 15th floor. So let’s just say, I barely got any good sleep. There wasn’t an iron in the room, waited an hour to get one and when I did get one, it was broken, the water poured right out. There was a used towel in the bathroom when I first arrived. The elevators took a very long time to come and the breakfast options were limited. I couldn’t wait to leave that hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Our check in was great, we arrived later in the day and our room was ready upon arrival. The front desk staff was very friendly :) the location of the property and the amenities were great! we had drinks on the roof in the evening and the view was beautiful overlooking the beach. the section of the beach used by the hotel was really nice to have and it was easy to get drinks. you could also leave your bags at the cabana with the attendants so you can go in the ocean. I would recommend this hotel!
the only downside to our stay was that our room did have a musty smell most likely coming from the AC. The balcony door was nice to have so we could open for fresh air but it did not mask the smell. The hotel was full so there was no other room to switch to and I did call to the front desk both days we were there to see if they could bring an air freshener and have the unit looked at but i dont believe anything was done. hopefully it can be fixed for the next guests :)
