Spent a lovely morning learning how to cook local dishes and learning about the lifestyle and traditions of Cambodia. Class was kept small and very well ran. Two thumbs up!
We started the class with a walk in the village, our guide brought a bag of rice for a family as a gift for letting us see their home, unluckily the family was not in, probably out in the market or in the farm, so we were told. While we were walking in the village our guides were showing us trees and plants that were grown in the houses backyard. They would either sell the fruits in the market or eat for daily living. After we got back to the cottage, its cooking time! We sliced and diced our veggies and meat, and did everything on our own (with a little help with out guides). We had a Chef demonstrating in the center and everyone was just following what she was doing. We each got our own "cooking station" which was pretty awesome. We made 3 dishes in total. And the best part of this class, after 3 hours of hard labor (LOL), eating! And I would have to say, they tasted pretty awesome! It was a nice and hearty experience.
This was perfect for me and my girlfriend. The cooking instructor was really nice and I loved visiting a local family to learn about their daily living. Everything was also planned out really well from pick-up at hotel to drop-off. I would highly recommend this place to get a good experience of authentic Cambodian food.
