I made good use of the free time in the evening for sightseeing. The duration was just right, not too long and not too short. It was very convenient that after the tour, I could be dropped off at a dinner location instead of being taken back to the hotel. The guide was also very kind and provided clear explanations, which was excellent.

Ang kalahating araw na tour ay maganda, hindi masyadong mahaba at hindi nakakapagod. Ang aming guide, si Mee, ay mahusay, propesyonal at nakakapagsalita nang maayos sa parehong wika, Ingles at Mandarin. Sinundo kami sa hotel at naging flexible sa paghatid sa amin sa isang lokasyon sa daan. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommend the Doi Suthep half-day tour! The itinerary is well-paced and never feels rushed. Our tour guide, Mike, speaks Chinese, so communication was completely seamless. His service was exceptional; he patiently explained things along the way and even kindly offered to take photos for us, knowing all the best angles. We stopped at a Hmong village for coffee halfway through, which had a wonderful mountain atmosphere and offered an immersive experience of Northern Thailand's hill tribe culture. The entire experience was relaxed and comfortable, making it stress-free even with children. A wonderful mountain excursion in Chiang Mai and extremely satisfying!

More than a sunrise tour, this half day was truly meaningful, and our guide James was the highlight!
We started by buying food to give dana (alms) at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, passing the statue of the monk who raised funds to build the mountain road. James used to be a monk, so he explained the Buddha's story, the temple murals and the meaning of the pillar decorations.
The sunrise was stunning, with the whole city below as James shared each temple's story.
Wat Pha Lat is a peaceful hidden gem. Through his connections with the monks, James gave us real insight into monastic life and the meaning behind the nagas, tigers and deities.
Our favourite was Wat Umong. We tried local instruments and drinks at a small event and explored the meditation tunnels a king built for a revered monk (with cute bats inside!).
It felt like visiting historic Lanna temples with an actual monk by your side. Highly recommended, and James is the best guide!

The driver arrived at the hotel lobby earlier than scheduled and contacted us directly via WhatsApp. The drive from the Nimman area to the sanctuary wasn't too far, but we happened to visit during Chiang Mai's rainy season, and it poured once we got up the mountain. However, the driver was very polite and waited for us to get ready. After a brief discussion, he refunded the cost of the complimentary drinks in cash and continued to wait while we finished our interaction with the elephants. The bananas and sugarcane provided for the elephants were quite fresh, and the staff were friendly to children and helped take photos. The dining area was clean and tidy. There weren't too many people at the sanctuary, probably fewer than 20.

This was the only tour available when I booked the day before, so I chose it. However, it turned out to be much better than I expected, and I'm glad I picked this one over other tours. The meeting time is very early, which makes the morning a bit challenging, but because of that, the temples and hiking trails were less crowded, allowing for a stress-free experience. Unfortunately, it was cloudy this time, so we couldn't see the sunrise. Our guide was also very thorough and made the experience enjoyable. I'm very grateful. We arrived back at the hotel before 9 AM, which meant we had the rest of the day to enjoy, making it very efficient. I highly recommend this tour.

Wat Pha Lat is the most serene jungle temple, the fact that the plants have been allowed to encroach on the structures only adds to the sense of gentle decay. Even though an overcast sky meant the usual glorious late afternoon light was absent, arriving at the temple as dusk approached only made it more atmospheric.
The gilded stupa and umbrellas of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep were impressive from the outset, but it was only when dusk fell and the lights were turned on that it became evident why we were there at that particular time. Magical! The view over the city is spectacular as well, both before and after dark.
Our guide Danny was personable, friendly and informative, and gave us time to wander at will, and our driver got us from place to place quickly and efficiently.
Minor criticisms are that as a solo traveller, I needed to book and pay for two people; also it was not clear from the activity description that a hotel pickup was possible, rather than meeting at the tour office.

Our guide Ekachai is friendly and fun to hike with! We stayed out of the main city and in the mountains so I was a little worried about transport but Ekachai was able to arrange pick up/drop off directly from our accoms with an additional fee. He also brought us to different route then he usually does, so we ended up hiking for 5hours with many scenic view points and gained lots harvesting tips! Will do again if I ever come back! :) Do remember to bring lots of sugary snacks - you will need them!
