Mga bagay na dapat gawin sa Cairns

Since I was a bit nervous about swimming, I opted for the glass-bottom boat and snorkeling package! The glass-bottom boat was amazing; just looking down, I could see beautiful fish and sea turtles, which was truly breathtaking. For snorkeling, I paid an additional AUD 12 to rent a life vest! Just a short distance away, there were schools of colorful fish, and swimming among them myself was a completely different experience. (The fish themselves were actually clearer to see from the glass-bottom boat!) Coin lockers, the souvenir shop, and restaurants all accepted credit card payments!

We saw so much in one day!Admittedly, it can feel a little rushed at times but that's the only way to fit everything in. Sheryl was an amazing tour guide! Her passion for her work, her love for the rainforest, and her respect for the Indigenous people and culture was evident in the way she spoke and interacted with everyone. I did not have high expectation fo the included lunch but it was quite delicious! I also overheard someone else say the same. 10/10

Although the itinerary was a bit tight, the pace was managed just right and there was no pressure at all! Taking the Skyrail cableway to overlook the entire rainforest was super breathtaking! This time I also added the koala-holding experience. Even though I only got one photo in the end, thinking that I might not know when I'll ever get to hold one again in the future, it was still totally worth it! Our tour guide and driver, Oscar, gave very vivid and interesting explanations that were not boring at all. The whole trip was both fulfilling and relaxing 🐨✨

Mabilis at maginhawa ang serbisyo. Huminto ang tren sa Barron Falls station para makita namin ang lugar. Tandaan na minsan ay malakas ang hangin (lalo na kapag paakyat), kaya magdala ng manipis na jacket at sumbrero. Pagdating sa Kuranda, mayroon kayong humigit-kumulang 3-4 na oras para maglibot.

Tanawin ng Daintree rainforest mula sa himpapawid. Lumipat kami sa 2-way Cable car dahil medyo huli na ang pabalik na biyahe ng tren at kami ay nananatili sa Port Douglas. Mayroong 3 hintuan at nakita namin ang Baron Falls at nakapaglakad-lakad sa Kurang Village.

The onboard staff were very enthusiastic and provided detailed introductions. After boarding, we left our ID at the counter to borrow prescription diving masks. At the second dive site, we decided on the spot to pay the 20 AUD for the glass-bottom boat ride, where we saw many fish and corals. The meals on board were simple and average, so those who care about food can bring their own snacks. Also, it is recommended to take motion sickness medicine to avoid ruining a wonderful trip.

Ruby was our tour guide for the night and she did an absolutley amazing job telling us about all the animals in the aquarium. It was so informative and I can’t believe she talked for 2 hrs straight. Our group being the only one at the aquarium at night was super cool. The only downside was when we went to have dinner we asked if we were able to sit against the aquarium but they said people were coming to sit there. During our entire meal and once we finished, no one ever came and sat at that table and another table also opened up soon after we were sat down and that table was also vacant the whole time, just be aware when you book for the dinner experience there is a big chance you may sit really far away from the actual aquarium. I would go just for the night time tour of the aquarium.

Napakagandang day tour sa Reef, nakahinto kami sa 2 diving spot at kasama rin sa package ko ang 1 helicopter flight. Mayroon ding photographer ang operator, na tumulong sa pagkuha ng mga underwater photo na maaari mong bilhin sa huli (bagaman medyo mahal sa $20/litrato). Simple lang ang tanghalian (steak, hipon, inihaw na isda, salad at pasta) ngunit masarap, at napakasariwa ng hipon. Ang nais ko sanang mapabuti ay ang anunsyo ng helicopter flight – mas maganda sana kung inihayag nila ang aking turn mga 10-15 minuto bago lumipad ang helicopter, para may sapat akong oras na magpalit ng normal na damit (nagsi-snorkeling ako bago iyon). Naniniwala rin ako na kung bibigyan ang mga pasahero ng hindi bababa sa 30 minuto bago ang pag-alis upang uminom ng gamot sa hilo, mas magiging epektibo ito. Ang ilang pasahero sa aking biyahe ay uminom ng gamot ngunit nahilo pa rin, marahil dahil hindi sapat ang oras para umiral ang gamot (kailangan mong inumin ito pagkatapos ng almusal, hindi bababa sa 30 minuto bago ang pag-alis).

Overall a great experience and definitely a must to add onto your itineraries! The tour was organised and the staffs made sure everyone was having a safe and fun day at the reef. You have most of what you’ll need in the boat—sea sickness pills, drinks and snacks. We not only got to see The Great Barrier Reef upclose but also above from the Heli. 😍
