Seoul: Tradisyonal na Mother-of-Pearl Craft Workshop sa Myeongdong

what a lovely peaceful experience with a very talented craftsperson. Both myself and my daughter had a lovely afternoon. I would highly recommend this workshop.

Nagkaroon ako ng talagang hindi malilimutang karanasan sa Mother-of-Pearl workshop na ito sa Seoul. Sa lahat ng ginawa ko sa aking biyahe, ito talaga ang isa sa mga pinakamakabuluhan at di malilimutang aktibidad. Mula nang dumating ako, naramdaman ko na hindi lang ito isang tipikal na aktibidad para sa turista, kundi isang maingat na inihandang karanasan sa kultura. Ang mismong lugar ay maganda ang disenyo – kalmado, masining, at nakakainspire. Agad nitong itinakda ang tono para sa isang malikhain at nakaka-engganyong karanasan. Bawat detalye, mula sa mga materyales hanggang sa kapaligiran, ay naramdamang sinadya at pinaghandaang mabuti. Ang proseso ng workshop ay lubhang nakaka-engganyo. Kahit na ako ay isang ganap na baguhan, hindi ako nakaramdam ng pagkalito. Ang mga tagubilin ay malinaw, detalyado, at madaling sundin, na nagbigay-daan sa akin na lubos na masiyahan sa proseso ng pagdidisenyo at paggawa ng sarili kong piraso. Ang pagtatrabaho sa mother-of-pearl ay talagang espesyal – ang paraan ng pagpapakita nito ng liwanag at paglalabas ng iba't ibang kulay ay nakakabighani. Pakiramdam ko ay gumagawa ako ng isang bagay na tunay na kakaiba.

Our group of four stumbled upon this gem and it turned out to be the highlight of our entire Seoul trip. June, the owner, is incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about Korean cultural heritage. From the moment we walked in, he made all four of us feel right at home. He guided us patiently through the entire mother-of-pearl crafting process, sharing the history behind najeonchilgi while making sure everyone in our group felt supported. Despite being a group of four, no one ever felt rushed or overlooked. We laughed, learned, and created together — each walking away with a unique handmade piece we’ll treasure forever. The photo shoot at the end was the perfect finishing touch. June puts his heart into every session and it shows. If you’re in Seoul, book this without hesitation! 감사합니다 June! 🙏🇰🇷✨

The place was really calm and peaceful while the teacher was very patient and helpful throughout the whole process. There are many colorful pieces and using the different shapes made from abalone shell was really interesting.

This was one of the best experiences I had in Seoul. It’s the best kind of frustrating, when you’re working hard and trying to learn, and with guidance, you’re able to make something beautiful. I recommend making a mirror so that you can use it everyday. June, the owner, was very helpful and kind. I want to go back and make more again someday. Also, check out the boxes he designed himself. They’re amazing!

we had a wonderful experience at the workshop. the work space was calm and welcoming with soothing music that really helped encourage creativity. The instructor was calm and friendly with a lot of knowledge. I would definitely recommend, especially if you want a little recharge day

An absolutely wonderful experience. The location was easy to find. Our instructor was very friendly and explained things clearly. We are all so happy with our final results. Definitely worth checking out and great value for the price!

we had a wonderful time making our mother of pearls crafts. The matierials provided were amazing quality. the instructions were clear and easy to follow. we enjoyed the entire experience thoroughly and were sad when it came to and end. The atmosphere is very relaxed and calm in part thanks to the space, music, and delicious Rice Tea. I highly recommend it to anyone interest in mother of pearl and traditional arts and crafts.

Me and my friend were so happy throughout the experience: we were initially introduced by the teacher to all the instruments and materials, then we were given a video in order to menage it to follow the instructions step by step. But the teacher was really kind and always ready to help whenever he saw us struggling or when we would call him. Furthermore he would chat with us about daily things so it was delightful to sit there, doing relaxing crafts while chatting. An we made such a precious thing. Absolutely to repeat it again.
