This was the highlight of our time in Kyoto! Incredibly sweet and kind. I would recommend this over and over again!
This experience was truly memorable. Such an insight into the history and careful crafting of tea making. The ladies were so happy, welcoming and showed genuine care to their guests. Nothing was too much to ask.
This is the second time I’ve booked this experience. The first time was with my middle child a year ago and this time with my youngest child. It is such a great experience and everyone is so wonderful and amazing! If I come back to Japan again with someone new, I would book it again! 10/10 experience!
This was truly an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our time in Japan. From the very beginning, our hosts were incredibly kind, patient, warm, and genuinely passionate about what they were sharing with us. Their explanations and teachings were thoughtful, detailed, and made us feel truly welcomed.I am incredibly grateful to the people who dedicate their time to preserving and sharing their culture with others. What touched me most was feeling that they do this not simply as a profession, but out of genuine love and pride for their culture and traditions. Thank you for sharing a piece of your culture with us with so much heart. I will carry this beautiful memory with me long after leaving Japan. 🇯🇵🍵❤️
This was such a lovely experience. When I arrived, I first got dressed in my kimono. They helped me pick out a color, a fitting obi and everything else. Then you get to pick a fabric coaster, little van and purse to get the full tea ceremony experience according to tradition. All the woman were very helpful and I had a great experience. This tea ceremony house is settled outside the busy city of Kyoto and more in a local place known for it's sake. It's a very lovely place to stroll through before and/or after tbe ceremony and definitely worth it to travel for!
Our tea ceremony in Kyoto was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the hosts welcomed us with such kindness, warmth, and care that we immediately felt at ease. The entire experience was intimate, beautifully explained, and filled with meaningful details about the tradition. They helped us choose stunning kimonos, guided us patiently through every step, and took so many wonderful photos for us. What touched us most was how much time they dedicated to us — far more than we expected — without ever making us feel rushed. Their attentiveness, generosity, and gentle presence made the ceremony feel magical. We learned so much, had so much fun, and left feeling deeply grateful. This was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Japan. Thank you for creating such a warm and memorable experience.
We were in Kyoto for just a few days, and I had booked this experience hoping to gain a little insight into the Japanese tea ceremony — but I received so much more! We chose the option that included dressing in a traditional kimono, and it turned into a truly marvelous experience — not only learning about the tea ceremony itself, but also about the art of wearing a kimono, a touch of calligraphy, and the deep cultural traditions behind it all. It was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto — an unforgettable glimpse into Japanese grace and hospitality.
fantastic friendly and insightful introduction to Japanese culture. a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend to anyone looking at more than “just a tea ceremony” . ps. go the extra mile and get the kimono package
This was a great experience. it was a very enjoyable afternoon and more than we expected. The 3 hosts were very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. It was not just a tea ceremony, we also did calligraphy, dessert making, flower decorating, dressed in Kimonos to take photos. we all had a great time.
