Dated hotel long overdue for a makeover. Room and sheets were clean and it can be a decent option with the right expectations.

This is a dated property where the building needs serious work. When I walked in, there was a strong chemical smell that stung my nose and the room was covered in moderate dust. To make matters worse, everything felt cheap, like they just painted over old walls and tiles to hide the age. There were also constant weird noises coming from the room all day and night, this was a below average stay.

decided to stay at Hotel Opportune as it was in a good location. check in was easy and straightforward, but unfortunately the room was not up to standards. got to the hotel, checked in, left for the night, got back and went to sleep. woke up at 8am and when going to the washroom there was a cockroach in the washroom scurrying around. i took photos and videos, grabbed my stuff and me and my friend went down stairs to inform the front desk, checked out, and ask for a refund seeing as how pests in a hotel are not up to health and safety standards. spoke to the hotel general manager Diana about what happened, which she asked to see proof which i showed her, and the first thing she asked me was if i posted this to social media (which i had not). she said she could not refund me herself since i booked through expedia otherwise she would've refunded me on the spot, and said if i went through expedia i would get my refund. contacted expedia, they called the hotel and after that phone conversation Diana told me expedia denied my refund, while expedia told me she denied the refund, then she turned the phone volume off and left. then another supervisor Sakshi came and took over and i called expedia, which they tried several times to call the hotel until Sakshi finally picked up, and told them over the phone they won't approve the refund, which Diana herself had just said she would. super sketchy staff and will lie to your face, not to mention disgusting pests!! completely unacceptable.

Great location. Very helpful staff. Lovely views of spectacular skyscrapers right outside the balcony. Water and mountains visible between the skyscrapers.

Doors were broken

This was our 2nd stay this summer. Staff has been great in welcoming us and meeting our requests. Great air conditioning during recent heat wave.

Super clean room and very nice staff, wish we stayed here longer!

This hotel was booked during the World Cup matches. We paid $250 for one night. This hotel needs a lot of updates and cleaning. The hotel staff was very friendly and the location was okay but I wouldn’t stay here again solely based on how much we spent and how outdated and standard of cleanliness the hotel was.

Location of the hotel is a plus, near the eating street of Vancouver. Staff is knowledge of the attraction and give good advice for sightseeing.

Perfect location, friendly staff, no issues with booking and checked in. Expedía is the best and reliable .
