This Hampton Inn was on par with others that I've stayed at. It was a relatively cheap option while my wife and I visited my daughter at Northeastern University. The King Suite was helpful as my daughter could stay with us on the sofa bed as needed.
The neighborhood is sketchy, but it's no big deal if you are used to East Coast American cities like New York, Philadelphia, or Baltimore. I am from the Philadelphia area so walking around the neighborhood was no big deal. I can imagine it is off-putting if you are from a more rural environment.
The complimentary breakfast was very good all three mornings of our stay. There are a McDonalds and a pizza place within a short walk from the hotel. The "New Market" pizza place was much better than I expected and I would recommend the place for a quick meal option.
The pool left a little to be desired, but this was just a Hampton Inn, not a Doubletree or a higher tier Hilton hotel. Overall, it was usable and I'm sure kids would like it.
