I needed a late checkout and was offered midday for free but, needing 18:00hrs checkout due to my work and late flight, I've been charged more than a full night's stay extra! Anyway I went to the 8th floor bar restaurant for some lunch and was told the kitchen and bar were closed. No apology, no explanation, no alternative suggestion. This is a 5* hotel, as a reminder, any hotel above 3* is all about customer service but clearly not in this case. Not to worry I went to the 7-11 around the corner. Lovely friendly helpful staff as I was struggling with translation. A lesson for the 'so-called' 5* hotel which I've stayed at several times before but never again! To be honest I was made to feel like I was in the wrong. This isn't the staff but purely poor management leadership. Step up or accept you're barely 3*......

Bar on 8th floor with great dark atmosphere. Barman was great at making cocktails, friendly, top customer service! Breakfast so much to choose from. My favourite Taichung hotel and I've tried a few with work. Staff always so polite and attentive. All round winner!

【ALFA Fitness Club Regulations & Maintenance】

Safety Age Limit: For health and safety reasons, guests under 16 years old are not permitted to use the sauna and gym facilities.

Weekly Cleaning: The men's and women's saunas are closed every Monday from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM for cleaning and maintenance (except the first Monday of the month).

Monthly Maintenance: The entire club (including the fitness center, multi-functional group exercise room, saunas, indoor heated pool, and massage facilities) is closed all day on the first Monday of each month. Actual schedules are subject to on-site club announcements.

2026 Annual Pool Maintenance: Scheduled from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4, 2026. On Nov. 30 (Mon), the entire club will be closed. From Dec. 1 to Dec. 4, only the pool will be closed while other facilities operate normally. The pool will reopen on Dec. 5 (Sat). (Note: The regular Dec. 7 maintenance is rescheduled to Nov. 30).
