The reception staff were particularly helpful, in arranging to extend our stay when our travel plans were disrupted by a tropical storm.

It was a great location, nice hotel, helpful staff that speak english well. They also have a bike storage area at the hotel if you decide to rent bikes ( there is a place right by the hotel to rent and it was fun)

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It was right near a train stop that you need to get to kyoto station. Also great connections if you're going to Nara or Fushimi temple. Beds were really comfy too. Also want to say a massive thank you to Peter at reception who went above and beyond - we had issues with some of our luggage from a previous hotel and he was so attentive and made sure everything was okay.

Yes, it costs more and is a western hotel but if consistency and comfortable stay is a priority, you can't go wrong. Didn't try the breakfast.

Nice large room (1 of 4 larger rooms on each floor), excellent friendly & helpful staff (some with good English), best breakfast buffet in my experience, large open eating & bar area, good location near large park, restaurants, etc. Overall, highly recommended!
