This is near where the Lake Biwa Canal flows and is close to the Okazaki area, which is a popular tourist destination in Kyoto. The Lake Biwa Canal, which was built in the Meiji period (1868-1912), aided the development of industry in Kyoto's early modern period and gave the city a new vitality. Today, it is an important industrial heritage site that is still in use. The interior is based around the Lake Biwa Canal, and aims to be a modern Japanese space where you can feel the flow of water through the colors and patterns used. Also, the corridors on each floor have a carpet motif that is inspired by the Keage Incline, which played a key role in transit of goods along with the Lake Biwa Canal. Quarto maravilhoso, estilo japonês, grande e confortável. A localização deixa um pouco a desejar, meio afastado. O horários do check in a partir das 16hs e principalmente o de check out as 10 hs ,me desagradou.

The hotel it's small but super clean and well done. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom huge. The only thing is that is on a quiet neighborhood so it's like 20 minute walk to the canal and Nishiki market but still centric enough. Also, the futon sounds like a good idea until the second night and your hips are dying...just saying. It's not as easy as you think if you are 35 or older...

After Tokyo, we basked in the generously sized rooms here. It’s worth it to pay a bit extra for the premium rooms. The extra space is amazing. The location was very convenient for us. You can walk to the Gion district, shopping, the river, bars and restaurants.

It was very clean and had spacious rooms which I felt was rare in Japan. It was more than enough room for our group to lounge around. The cleaning service was also great and they had amenities. The toilet was also separate from the shower room which was convenient. You had to walk a bit to get to touristy areas but there is also public transportation close by. We had a great stay!
