A lovely welcome from both Alex and Ridina. They both were there whenever we needed help with anything. Lovely boutique hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto but still close enough to all major tourist hotspots. A special thankful to the bar lady, we never got her name. She was a real superstar.

Lovely staff, lovely spacious room. Great location. Bar was fun and we enjoyed the sake. Alex on the front desk is a real professional and clearly takes great pride in his work. Thanks for everything!

Villa Sanjo is a wonderful hotel.
We stayed for one week during Christmas 2025 and could not have had a better experience. The hotel is situated in a side street but is very central and easy walking distance to restaurants, train stations, as well as highlights like Nishiki market and Kawaramachi shopping area. There is a wonderful bakery next door that was our go-to breakfast place. One note: the photos of the area do not do it justice; it is far nicer .
The room was spotless and very spacious with modern amenities with a great shower. The room was spotlessly cleaned daily.
One thing that sets this hotel apart was the fantastic staff. They were very helpful, offering great recommendations for restaurants and other highlights. In particular, Alex was incredible and offered truly exceptional service for our every need.

This is a small hotel with only 12 rooms so it felt very comfortable and private. Excellent rooms and service.
