Super friendly and attentive staff! The rooms overlooking the river are sweet, but can be very noisy at night from the cafes below with the windows open.

C'est la meilleure maison d'hôte que j'ai séjourné. L'accueil est chaleureux, la chambre est très propre et le petit déjeûner est parfait ( bien sélectionné, bien présenté, bien servi). Je voudrais aussi faire une mention spéciale et un remerciement à Luis, pour sa gentillesse et son service exceptionnel.

We love Guest House Douro! For our first time traveling in Portugal, they welcomed us warmly and showed us great kindness. They were personal and always welcomed us at the door with a conversation and asked if we needed anything. The breakfast was tasty and they made the effort to make things from scratch - truly unheard of in the US. Book a room now. You won't regret it!

Exceeded expectations. Louis (?) in the evening and Louisa (?) in the morning were so helpful. The breakfast was exceptional.

What a great place to stay in Porto ! What they lack in space, they make up in hospitality & accommodations. Everything is clean & fresh, the breakfast was awesome, and the staff is so helpful ! You are at steps from the river, and access to all of the restaurants & shops. We would definitely go back !

Everything was great! The staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and always welcoming. This hotel is a prime spot, great views, and well maintained.

Thanks to all the staff for making our stay at Guest House Douro an enjoyable one. The staff were very helpful with lots of help and advice to cater for us. The breakfast was wonderful and we have to give a special mention to Luisa whose service and smile was exceptional and she always went further to make sure we were happy and enjoying our stay - thank you Luisa😀. We will recommend to our friends to stay with you in future.

You couldn't ask for a better location or more attentive staff. The breakfast was amazing. This historic spot is not large so don't expect a roomy room. Do expect to be in the center of the historic waterfront!
