This place is a short walk from Amsterdam's central train station and the canal system. There is no A/C...only a fan is provided for battling hot weather. The real problem is that everything, including the check-in office, is accessed only by climbing a very steep set of stairs that is about as close as you can get to just having to climb a ladder. We were a flight of stairs above the office so that was an additional set of stairs. And, I believe, there were one or two more floors above us. If you are older and/or have a lot of luggage, I would not recommend it. If this isn't a problem, you'll like the great location and the front-desk people were superb.

Got exactly what I was expecting for a one night stay near the train station. I read the reviews about no elevator and the stairs being dangerous. No experience in my life could prepare me for how steep, narrow, and windy the stairs are in this hotel. If you have a checked bag you may not want to stay here. Looking for adventure??? Book away. The staff were excellent and was very clean. Great location in the mix of things.

Quite basic, but clean and had comfortable beds. Do not go if you have trouble with stairs as they have a lot of very steep stairs with no lift.

We stayed on the third floor. There is no lift and the stairs are very narrow.

The room we had was small for three of us but it was sufficient. They don’t clean the room (we stayed 4 nights) but replace anything you need. You just have to ask! The stairs are very steep after the second floor but we did it! No elevator at all. The staff was very kind. The location is perfect: 10 minute walk from the train station and street cars with lots of shops in the area. Loved it!

Lots of shops and food nearby and transportation nearby. If you have a problem with stairs or ladder type stairs DO NOT STAY HERE! and make sure you check the other hotels in the area as most are like this in this area.
