As a first time traveler to Madrid, the staff were incredibly helpful, accommodated to my weak Spanish speaking, and respected my privacy. The building might be a little old, but the rooms were very nice and recently refurbished. Highly recommend for a small cozy spot to rest before exploring the city.

Great location with a 15-20 walk max to all the big landmarks. Hotels is cozy as well and with many good shopping and restaurants nearby.

I was really surprised by this hotel; I expected less, but it exceeded my expectations in every way—from the cleanliness to the cozy room and the overall atmosphere. Everything was easy; the staff was very warm, and the young man at the reception who assisted me was very professional, respectful, and clear in his explanations. I give this hotel a 10 out of 10. You don't need to worry about the entry code or numbers; they explain it simply, and getting in is super easy—not complicated at all. I would recommend it anytime.

It was ok, nothing great or exceptionally bad. The bathrooms are tiny; if you're not a small person, it's uncomfortable. There was loud construction all day right next to my room, which might have been out of their control. The hallway's lights were out and never fixed the entire time. I wouldn't come back.

This was my first experience with a “hostal”. As an American, I equated “hostal” with “hostel”, and I generally avoid the latter. I was mistaken. The only difference between this and a traditional hotel is that you can’t order in food, which you won’t need to do, since there are restaurants everywhere. This place is excellent, an amazing value for the money. The location is ideal, the host was very gracious, the wi-fi was excellent, and the property is exquisitely maintained. I would certainly stay here again.
