We booked a fully paid five-night stay at The Leela Palace, reserving two rooms for our family after a long international journey. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the very first night.
A large wedding event resulted in loud music late into the night. I reported the disturbance at around 9:30 p.m., but no effective action was taken. The music continued until approximately 11:30 p.m., and the inadequate soundproofing made it impossible to rest.
The following day, while our family was having a casual conversation inside one of our rooms, a staff member knocked and spoke rudely to my 66-year-old mother, asking us to lower our conversation. Rather than handling the situation courteously or offering to move both of our rooms to a quieter location for the remaining stay, the interaction left us feeling unwelcome.
Services also fell short of expectations, room service was delayed, porter chaos, and the overall service was delayed.
We checked out after just one night. The hotel refunded the remaining four nights, which we appreciated, but it did not make up for the disruption to our family meeting.
We then moved to The Lodhi, where we stayed for 6 days and experienced exceptional hospitality, attentive service, and a peaceful atmosphere throughout. I would recommend The Lodhi over The Leela Palace.
My suggestion to The Leela Palace is simple: when hosting large weddings or private events, ensure they do not compromise the experience of other guests
