Axel Hotel Bilbao – Adults Only

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights back in November 2025 and had a very pleasant experience. My room was on the 1st floor, and I didn't face any issues with noise, bad odors, or anything similar. Based on my satisfaction from that stay, I decided to book this hotel again. However, this time—perhaps because I stayed on the top floor—it was a disappointing experience. There was noise, an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, and a buzzing/humming sound from the electrical panel. I informed the reception about these issues, but they simply mentioned it was a known situation and said they would try to help. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with my stay this time.

Clean room, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Friendly staff, nice breakfast . Location is ideal…

The room smelled terrible like sewage. Tried to switch rooms but it had to be at certain times which conflicted with tours i had booked.

Nice hotel, very clean and well taken care of.

The hotel is centrally located only a few minutes walk from the Bilbao train station on the edge of the old town. The room was spacious but I’d caution that it’s an open plan design meaning that there’s not much separation between the sleeping area and the bathroom area. The pool was small but was very popular nonetheless and the rooftop bar/pool area had great views of the river and Bilbao. Bed was also very comfortable.

The staff is what I like best about this hotel. They are very friendly and are always ready to help. The design of the hotel is minimalist but very functional. Bathrooms are great and beds are comfortable. Conveniently located next to the old town with a beautiful view over the river. Definitely will stay here again!

Quiet rooms. Modern but not fussy decor. Fantastic location. If you are able-bodied, all major attractions are within walking distance. Excellent buffet breakfast. Welcoming staff. No kids. 10’s, 10’s, 10’s across the board!

I’m a solo traveler, which is important to note in the feedback. I checked in; was provided with a map and suggestions. Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool and balcony view was spectacular. Room was cleaned daily and perfectly. I needed a taxi early morning , they set it up. I even had staff inform when taxi arrived. I will come back!!

Clean room, good breakfast (but it’s not complimentary, so be careful), friendly staff. The pool was underwhelming though, and the rooftop bar was missing many drinks on it’s menu.
