Hoa Lo Prison Museum චාරිකා

Today was an outstanding day thanks to my lovely guide, Tamm. I tried some nice Vietnamese coffee, got to witness the epic Hanoi Train street, while sipping a mango smoothie. Then, we ventured to Hoa Lo prison and this place is a must because, you can see the fascinating history that Vietnam possesses. It’s here that you get to appreciate Vietnam even more. This experience was memorable thanks to the knowledge and passion of Tamm. I highly recommend everyone to engage in this tour, when your in Hanoi.

The Hanoi city tour was great, especially with our guide, Hue. Hue is very knowledgeable about Hanoi City and Vietnamese culture, and gave us a great tour. Her command over English is good. She is a great person, and I would like to have her as a guide again. The lunch had a set menu and the portion sizes were too little. It also didn’t include any beverage. This is one thing that could have been improved.

අපි අර්ධ දින සංචාරයකට සම්බන්ධ වුණා. එය වෙහෙසකර වුවත් ඒ සමඟම විනෝදජනකයි. ඔවුන්ගේ සංස්කෘතිය හා විශ්වාසයන් ගැන ඉගෙනීම අලුත් අත්දැකීමක් වුණා. අපගේ සංචාරක මාර්ගෝපදේශක කෙවින් මහතා සංචාරයට දිනකට පෙර අපට පිකප් වේලාව සහ ස්ථානය පිළිබඳව මතක් කරමින් කෙටි පණිවිඩයක් එවා තිබුණා. සංචාරය සුමටව සිදු වුණා, වෑන් රථය ඉතා සුවපහසුයි. අපි වාහනයට ගොඩ වූ සෑම අවස්ථාවකම මට නින්ද ගියා. අපි අපේ හෝටලය වෙනුවට අවන්හලකින් බැසීමට ඉල්ලා සිටියා.

මගේ මව අපගේ මාර්ගෝපදේශක ඩාර්සි සමඟ කාන්තා කෞතුකාගාරය සහ හෝවා ලෝ බන්ධනාගාර චාරිකාවට එක් වූ අතර ඉතා ප්‍රසන්න අත්දැකීමක් ලැබුවාය. ඩාර්සි මිත්‍රශීලී, සජීවී සහ ඉතා ප්‍රවේශ විය හැකි වූ අතර, චාරිකාව පුරාම සැහැල්ලු හා ප්‍රියජනක වාතාවරණයක් නිර්මාණය කළාය. බෙදාගත් ඓතිහාසික සන්දර්භය බොහෝ ප්‍රදර්ශන භාණ්ඩ සහ කථා ජීවමාන කිරීමට උපකාරී විය. මගේ මව විශේෂයෙන් අගය කළේ මාර්ගෝපදේශකයා අදහස් බෙදා ගැනීමට සහ යන අතරමගදී ප්‍රශ්නවලට පිළිතුරු දීමට කෙතරම් විවෘතව සිටියාද යන්නයි. සමස්තයක් වශයෙන්, එය සිත් ඇදගන්නාසුළු හා තොරතුරු සහිත අත්දැකීමක් වූ අතර, මගේ මව එම ස්ථාන සහ ඒවායේ ඉතිහාසය පිළිබඳ ගැඹුරු අවබෝධයකින් යුතුව ආපසු පැමිණියාය. උණුසුම් හා පිළිගැනීමේ ප්‍රවේශය චාරිකාව විශේෂයෙන් ප්‍රියජනක කළේය.

Visiting the Military Museum and the prison in Hanoi was a really meaningful experience, especially as a first-time visitor to Vietnam. It was great to learn more about the country’s history and gain context for the places we’ve been seeing around the city. Darcy was incredibly patient with all of our questions and was clearly very knowledgeable about Vietnam’s history, which made the tour even more engaging. One thing to note is that weekend visits can get quite crowded due to students, and a half-day tour can feel a little rushed if you want to explore everything in detail. It might be helpful if there were options for both half-day and full-day tours for visitors who want to dive deeper into the history.

Our tour guide Michael is very passionate & took great efforts to explain the history, facts & culture of Vietnam in an engaging way & with a good sense of humour. He also demonstrated the warmth & hospitality of the Vietnamese people. In addition, he is proactive to welcome any queries that we have & go the extra mile in accommodating our requests. We truly appreciated his dedication & enthusiasm. The visits to Ethnology Musuem, Hoa Lo Prison and Ho Chi Minh are eye-openers for my family. The tour is really insightful & has deepen my understanding of this country. Highly recommended.

This 1Day city tour itinerary was just perfect to experience most desired attractions in Hanoi. Our tour guide Mr. Luca was very informative & managed the entire tour with good timing. Insence village, Train Street coffee shops along the running train passing-by & Prison Museum were among the unique experiences to remember.
