Get ready to abseil beside waterfalls, zipline through the canyon, jump into crystal-clear pools and slide down natural rock chutes in Queenstown’s Twelve Mile Canyon.
Your adventure starts at the Canyon Explorers base in central Queenstown, where you’ll meet your guides and get fitted with specialist canyoning gear before heading out to the canyon. After a walk through native beech forest, your guides will lead you through hidden rock passageways, waterfalls and clear pools. No previous canyoning experience is required.
Afterwards, warm up with a hot shower at the canyon base before returning to central Queenstown. Free tour photos will be sent to you via a link after your trip.
Good to know
- Eat a good meal before your trip – canyoning is active and you’ll want plenty of energy.
- Bring swimwear and a towel, plus an extra non-cotton thermal layer such as merino or polypro for added warmth. Avoid cotton, as it stays wet and can make you feel colder.
- No previous canyoning experience is required – your guides provide all specialist equipment, instruction and support throughout the adventure.
- Bring a GoPro if you’d like to capture your own footage – mounts are available.
- Free tour photos are included, so you can focus on enjoying the canyon and take the memories home with you.
