Gaoyuan Village, located on a mountain on the west coast of Keelung Port, is said to be named so because it is "high and far away."

In 1960, Meiyi and Jianhua came to live in Gaoyuan Village. From marriage and childbirth to retirement, they spent wonderful times in Gaoyuan Village.

As this mountain village was forgotten by history, Meiyi also began to forget the bits and pieces of her life here.

🔔About Gaoyuan Village

"Gaoyuan Village" in the Xiandong area of Keelung is mostly populated by immigrants from various provinces of China and their descendants who came to Taiwan after World War II, or employees and their families engaged in port operations. This place has a unique landscape interwoven with nature and culture: Qiuzishan Lighthouse, air-raid shelter complexes, container terminal base, Japanese-style houses, and the Port Construction Memorial碑. It was an important port construction site during the Japanese era and witnessed the port's development reaching another peak during Taiwan's economic take-off.

"Gaoyuan Village" has many memories and stories that are inextricably linked to the prosperity of Keelung Port, and the families living in the village also share the beautiful past that binds them together.
