Jiuzhaigou Valley, at first look, almost doesn't look real. Under the sunlight, with spectacularly clear bluegreen waters decked with shining gold and emerald foliage, to say that it's scenic is a vast understatement. This gorgeous nature reserve is actually a network of valleys, and considered as one of the most scenic locations in all of Sichuan. With waterfall cascades, the Zharu Monastery and the Tibetan Villages, and its seemingly endless ancient forests, as well as the shimmering Five Flower Lake, there is so much to see in this valley that it may take three days to truly explore it. From Chengdu you'll visit Yingxiu Town, where you have an hour of exploration at the Wenchuan Earthquake ruins, before heading to the Diexi Hazi Barrier lake.
