We’ve stayed at many various hotels in Japan and have never come across a hotel where the staff have been as unhelpful and dismissive as the ones at Tokyu Stay Hakata. From the front desk staff to some of the restaurant staff. Linh at the front desk was particularly unhelpful. A female staff member who made our drinks at the restaurant was lovely and very friendly.
Hotel itself was basic, somewhat clean (the elevators were dirty, bathrooms need more thorough cleaning), comfortable beds, location was a 10-15 minute walk from Hakata station. The in room washer and dryer were great. They’ll only do a full clean of your room once every 7 days, you can pay extra for room cleaning/bed changing if needed.

We love to have the laundry machine in our room , convenient, but it took 3 hrs to dry one load of wash…… so we left it over night to Do its work .

Room was very clean. Room cleaning options are very good. We chose the towel and rubbish exchange, no entry. We like Tokyu Stay because of the washer/dryer in the room; it's very convenient to do laundry at night. Staff was very helpful, especially when we had a problem with the washer. Amenities they offer are very nice. This Tokyu Stay had a water dispenser in the lobby and complimentary juice and coffee in the evening. Location is about a 10 minute walk from Hakata station. It was a bit of a challenge maneuvering the streets with luggage in tow. On the day of departure, we caught a taxi to Fukuoka airport, much easier. Front desk can call a taxi for you. Without luggage, walking to Hakata station to eat or shop is not a problem.

Rooms are clean and hotel is in a convenient location by the station. We had a room on the railway tracks which was very noisy. A train passed through every 2 minutes. The hotel is nice and relatively modern. The rooms are small, washing machine is pretty useless but only ok if you plan on putting a very small load as the dryer doesn’t dry the clothes. Would only recommend for a short stay and if you choose a room away from the railway side.

Bun It's a very basic hotel with small rooms. Near to Hakata station so if you are looking for a one-night stay close to the station, it does the job. Other than that, not sure why you'd want this location. Washing machine in the room which is helpful if you are travelling light and don't want to supervise washing in a laundry room. There is a small bar in the lobby but it was a bit cold and sterile - I've stayed in similar properties with better atmosphere. In the end it comes down to the price you can get it for and the location - it's perfectly serviceable if it matches your budget and location.
