Experiência de cerimônia do chá (Nara)

Amazing experience. It was a 20 min taxi or 40 min train from Nara Park we went with a taxi for about $30 AUD. The experience is held at Haroni Kissako-An’s (Tea Ceremony Master) house. He was very welcoming and showed us all the correct steps for a tea ceremony. He was strict with how we performed the steps but was light hearted and made the experience fun and enjoyable. I will highly recommend this experience to others as myself and 3 others really enjoyed ourselves.

notre hôte nous a reçu dans sa salle de thé. il nous a expliqué dans un anglais parfait en quoi consistait tous les éléments et outils de la cérémonie. nous avons aussi pu apprendre quelques mots japonais et découvrir une friandise typique. nous avons beaucoup appris sur la signification des bols et la purifications des outils. c’était un moment fort en émotions et en signification que nous avons pris le plaisir de découvrir. on aimerait recommencer ! merci à notre hôte pour sa gentillesse et sa bienveillance.

We had such a wonderful time at the tea ceremony! Our tea master was delightful, the tea and sweets he gave us were delicious, and he truly enhanced our whole experience with his explanations of each step

this was an absolute blast! our host, a professor at the Naga university, was the sweetest host you could have, eager to explain every part of a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. I was especially mesmerized by his tea whisking skills. The matcha also tasted great. If you have the time, definitely come here!

esperienza molto interessante, il sig.re che ci ha ospitato gentile e disponibile; siamo arrivati in anticipo, ci ha fatto attendere solo 10 minuti per sistemare e accolto, quindi , in anticipo sull'orario concordato. Consigliato!

Wir haben die Teezeremonie etwas außerhalb von Nara Park besucht. Mit dem Taxi (ca. 20 Minuten vom Nara Park) oder der Bahn (ca. 40 Minuten) ist die Location aber gut erreichbar. Schon die Fahrt dorthin war für uns ein Highlight, da wir aus dem Trubel des Touristenzentrums herauskamen und die dörfliche Umgebung genießen konnten – das war unglaublich erfrischend. Vor Ort wurden wir herzlich empfangen. Der Gastgeber war sehr geduldig, höflich und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns alle Schritte ausführlich erklärt und uns mit viel Ruhe durch die Zeremonie geführt. Man spürt, wie wichtig ihm die Tradition und Authentizität dieses Erlebnisses sind. Für uns war es die schönste Erfahrung während unseres ganzen Japanurlaubs. Wir können die Teilnahme von Herzen weiterempfehlen!

I couldn’t find the place. I navigated from the Klook app and it took me deep into a residential area off the Heijo station with no signage. I’m giving 5 stars because it could have been my error somehow but am reviewing so that the issue can perhaps be fixed?

Worth every cent. My son (18) and I (49) went, walked from the train station through the neighborhoods. The walk itself is nice. 45 years of tea ceremony experience shows, and his patience with us, and his English was *easily* good enough for the ceremony, our first. would definitely recommend to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic. The tea master spoke great English. He also did great to explain the entire ceremony, why he selected each cup etc. We had a blast and he was patient and made sure we got the ceremony accurate. Definitely worth the experience!

very interesting ceremony with a very good English speaking tea master. loved everything about this ceremony. beware that the location is not near Nara station or Nara parc so take your time to come over there on time. we didn’t and the taxidriver couldn’t find the location so we were late
