Chiang Mai Doi Suthep & Elephant Sanctuary Small Group Tour

Don’t listen to any of the reviews which call this a scam, because it is absolutely NOT! These people genuinely care for the elephants and are working hard (with your support as a tourist) to redefine the treatment of these beings throughout Thailand. Our guide Paul shared his extensive knowledge on the history of elephants in South Asia, as well as how the monasteries and temples were created in Chiang Mai. The whole day trip took us all over the city and up into the mountains, and was a wonderful experience getting in touch with nature — finishing with a hike down through the forest. We all had an amazing time and felt that the whole experience was extremely fulfilling. If you want to go see elephants who are well looked after, as well as some of the sights of Chiang Mai, this is the tour for you!

Fantastic experience. My husband and I took our 4 children along and everyone had a great time. Our tour guide, “Sugar”, was really friendly and helpful. The elephants were really well treated and the day was really well organised as we moved through the activities and elephants stations.
