Sobre o trem de alta velocidade

Hong Kong High-Speed Rail (Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link) connects Hong Kong West Kowloon Station with the country's vast high-speed rail network, spanning approximately 26 kilometers and reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h. Once entering the mainland section, speeds can soar to as much as 350 km/h. Whether for business trips or leisure travel, Hong Kong High-Speed Rail is the fastest, most comfortable, and convenient transportation option for traveling between Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and other destinations.

The high-speed train departs from West Kowloon Station and takes only about 14 minutes to reach Shenzhen and around 48 minutes to arrive at Guangzhou, giving you more time to immerse yourself in local sightseeing and activities. Additionally, West Kowloon Station implements "co-location," allowing travelers to complete both Hong Kong's and Mainland China's immigration procedures within the same station significantly reducing crossing times.

The design of the high-speed train carriages balances comfort with practicality by offering economical Second Class seats along with more spaciously comfortable First Class seats. The trains are equipped with adjustable seat backs and charging sockets among other amenities ensuring that even while speeding through your journey you can enjoy a relaxed experience.

Convenient. Foreigners should use the manned gate and enter with their passports. Entry is allowed only about 12–15 minutes before departure, and the gate closes roughly 5 minutes prior. Seats can be separated by an aisle.

It's easy to book, but there's a limitation: if you don't book far in advance, your ticket might be rejected even if it shows as available during the booking process. Even after payment, there's a chance of cancellation and immediate refund because the actual tickets might not be available. I understand that Klook's system is a third-party system, which might cause this limitation for train ticket bookings. However, overall, if you book well in advance, I don't think there will be any problems.

First ever high speed train experience in China and I can say that it's worth every peso even for a 2nd class ticket. So convenient and comfortable. I was able to sleep because the operation is quiet. Hope to visit China again soon

Shanghai South Railway is like an airport. It is very massive. It's amazing that drinking water is available in every waiting area of each gate. The toilet is well-maintained. The train has a recliner. It's so clean, you could hardly feel that it's moving. We arrived 30 minutes late. It's very easy to board the train. Lots of boarding officers are assisting.

High-speed rail offers two types of tickets to meet the needs of different travelers, including:

  • Adult ticket: Applicable for travelers aged 14 and above

  • Child ticket: Applicable for children aged 6 years old but under 14. The child ticket must be purchased together with an accompanying adult ticket, and relevant identification documents are required.

Specific high-speed rail fares vary depending on the destination and seat class; details can be found in the latest fare schedule published on the official website.

High-Speed Rail Seat Options

In addition to the aforementioned ticket types and discounts, high-speed rail prices also differ based on selected seats and schedules. Hong Kong's high-speed rail offers two seating options, including second-class seats and first-class seats:

  • Second-class seat: Offers great value with comfortable standard seating suitable for short trips or business travel

  • First-class seat: Provides more spacious comfort ideal for medium- to long-distance journeys

Ticket Booking Tips

  • It is recommended that you book your high-speed train tickets in advance, especially during peak travel seasons such as weekends or public holidays. Please ensure that any travel documents used at booking are valid.

  • Direct entry without exchanging tickets: After booking your tickets through Klook, there’s no need to exchange physical tickets; you can directly enter using a valid form of ID registered at purchase on the day of travel—making it convenient and quick.

  • Each adult traveler aged 18 years or older may bring one child under six who does not occupy a seat free of charge; if this child requires their own seat, a child ticket must be purchased.
