Amazing tour! Yusuke Tanaka is an asking tour guide , he took the time to explain everything to us and did not rush us on the tour. this tour takes you to special sites that are not over crowded. can feel the essence of true old Japan. highly recommended.

It was such an honor and a great experience. Definitely worth the money. We had fun as Ai was such an excellent guide. She provided nuances between Maiko and Geiko, correcting the preconceived notions given by the movie, Memoirs of a Geisha, and being an excellent interpreter. Umemai-san, the maiko that performed for us, was very amazing. For someone so young to be able to perform for us with great confidence and answer all of our questions, she was just superb. Our tour guide, Hua Hua, is the best a group could ask for. He's very funny and keeps our group lively. He constantly updates us on what to expect and the places to visit around Arashiyama. He's also a good singer! Thank you for hosting us, Hua Hua!

I took this tour with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide, Aki, was kind, informative, and always made sure no one was left behind. I really enjoyed the historical facts she provided as we walked through the gardens of Tenryu-ji Temple. The photos speak for themselves regarding how beautiful it was. After reading the reviews, I wasn't expecting much from the lunch buffet, but I actually liked it. It gave me Japanese school camp mess hall vibes and was tasty. Everything went according to plan, and based on my experience, I would 100% recommend this tour. However, I understand that some people are unlucky when the boat ride is canceled due to low water levels or excessive rain, and the river ride is a huge part of the experience. Tour guide Lai was enthusiastic and provided detailed explanations, even offering us information about activities after arriving in Arashiyama. We are very grateful! The entire journey by train, horse-drawn carriage, and rafting boat was exciting and fun, a truly rare experience! 👍

We usually prefer independent travel but felt this tour would enable us to see key sights in Kyoto, and we did. Our guide Anson was excellent. He created a WhatsApp group chat to share information at each stop so we could self guide after he shared initial information. There were only 15 on the bus so not too crowded. highly recommend. We had a wonderful time on this tour as Yusuke is an excellent host! He has a great eye for detail and went the extra mile to ensure we had a memorable time. You don’t have to know much about the Tale of Genji to enjoy this tour, as Yusuke is skilled to adapt the tour to your preferences. I highly recommend this tour if you want to escape the crowded tourist attractions! We had the opportunity to visit many spots and take as many photos as we wanted without the crowds - Yusuke is also a skilled photographer and would happily take your pictures.
