Coisas para fazer em Mount Kinabalu

Kami menempah lawatan persendirian dan sangat gembira melawat Pekan Nabalu, Jambatan Tamparuli, dan Ladang Tenusu Desa di Kundasang. Perjalanan itu sangat selesa dan menyenangkan. Kami tidak melawat Taman Negara kerana kami melancong bersama ibu kami yang sudah tua, tetapi kami tetap mempunyai hari yang menakjubkan. Di Pekan Nabalu, kami bernasib baik dapat melihat Gunung Kinabalu dengan jelas — kadang-kadang ia tersembunyi di sebalik awan! Ia juga merupakan tempat yang bagus untuk membeli cenderamata. Jambatan Tamparuli mungkin hanya jambatan gantung, tetapi pemandangan dan legenda tempatan menjadikannya berbaloi untuk berhenti. Perhentian terakhir kami di Ladang Tenusu Desa sangat indah — kami suka angin sejuk, pemandangan bukit, dan dapat memberi makan anak lembu dan kambing. Pemandu kami, Vincent, bercakap lembut, bermaklumat, dan sangat membantu. Kami sangat menikmati syarikatnya. Sangat disyorkan!

I participated alone in a mixed group tour this time. Everyone, including myself, was from Singapore, and I was with Singaporeans, a Chinese couple, and a Korean family. The pickup time was communicated in advance via WhatsApp, and I was contacted immediately upon arrival, which made things smooth. The guide and driver spoke clear English and kept us informed about the time required for each leg of the journey, which put me at ease. Although it was a shame that we couldn't see the majestic Mount Kinabalu due to bad weather, we were able to enjoy nature at Poring Hot Spring, the Rafflesia Garden, and Desa Farm. The yogurt gelato at Desa Farm and the BBQ pork on the way back were exquisite and definitely worth trying. Lunch was Chinese cuisine with flavors familiar to Japanese people. Since we drove on mountain roads in a large van, those prone to motion sickness should definitely take precautions beforehand. (There was consideration to let me sit in the front of the car if I wished.) The admission fees for Poring Hot Spring and Rafflesia Garden cost an additional RM80 in total, but considering the travel distance and the tour content, it was reasonable, and overall, I highly recommend this tour.

Our trip to Kudasang was enjoyable. Out driver was on time and the activities we partook were well-paced. Our guide, Roy, was friendly and took pride in his job. We had a seamless experience from start to finish.

The tour company Borneo Calling was incredibly well-organized! Mei, our point of contact, provided timely updates and checks to ensure everything ran smoothly. On the day we arrived at the Kinabalu Lodges, check-in was seamless, and the rooms were very clean! On the day of the hike, we were introduced to our mountain guide, Sofian. He was so kind and encouraging throughout our ascent and descent. It was clear that safety was the top priority during the entire hike. The weather wasn't ideal; there was heavy rain on the first day as we hiked up to Panalaban, and we were informed that if the rainy weather persisted, the hike to the peak might be canceled. Fortunately, the rain cleared, though it remained cloudy at the summit. We were also frequently reminded to look out for signs and symptoms of altitude sickness, which was very important. The hike up to Low's Peak is challenging but absolutely worth it. Highly recommended! Still, it's not an easy hike.

It was fun. Our guide was an excellent driver, so what should have been a 2-hour journey, we arrived in 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you want to have a special itinerary when you come to Kota Kinabalu, I highly recommend it.
