Passeios por Ashikaga Flower Park

Leo was a great guide for this tour and is very experienced. We really enjoyed the amazing views at the Ashikaga Flower Park before and after sunset. We would have preferred spending less time at the first location to have more time at the second and third locations.

Hitachi Seaside Park is very large. The tour group dropped us off at the entrance near the sea (I just realized there are four entrances: north, south, east, and west). Walking a short distance to the right, you'll find the famous Nemophila Hill. However, when we went on May 10th, the flowers were already wilting, and it was raining, so the flower fields weren't as beautiful, but it was still spectacular. There are other sections as well. After walking a full loop, my conclusion is: completing one loop within the allotted time will truly exhaust your legs. Ashikaga Flower Park is highly recommended and truly worth a visit. Although the wisteria flowers had also withered, there were other blooming flowers in the park, such as roses, azaleas, and peonies, which pleasantly surprised me. It's evident that the entire garden is very well maintained.

Leo and the team did a great job guiding us from location to location. Due to heavy traffic, our transit time increased quite a bit. Fortunately, we had brought food with us, so we didn't have to waste any time queuing at the sites.

¡Fue un tour increíble! Ayumi (nuestra guía) y Emiko (nuestra conductora) son muy amables y simpáticas. Ayumi nos guio en inglés durante todo el viaje. El viaje en general fue memorable, ya que pudimos ver las nemophilas y las glicinias (blancas y amarillas en plena floración, ya que las moradas y rosas ya habían pasado su temporada) y otras hermosas flores. La parada de descanso del período Edo estuvo bien, no había mucho que ver, pero fue interesante ya que fue construida hace 200 años.

This is a straightforward tour that takes you to two parks—perfect if you’re short on time but want to visit both. A Japanese tour leader is provided, along with English/Chinese-speaking guides, though they don’t speak much. We joined on May 4th, 2025. Most flowers were still in full bloom, though the tulips had started to wither. Hitachi is a vast park, and two hours isn’t enough to explore it all. It rained heavily during our visit to Ashikaga, but the scenery was still stunning. Due to Golden Week traffic, the tour ended later than expected. Suggestions for improvement: • Start earlier to allow more time at each park. • Offer optional Japanese bento boxes (at extra cost) to enhance the picnic experience. Overall, a fun experience—just be mindful of the timing and weather for the best views.

Thanks to Leo and our driver for a fantastic excursion to see the Hitachi Seaside Park and Wisteria Garden. It was a very long day due to traffic, but they chugged along in good spirits. The drive to Hitachi took 2.5 hours longer than expected, then another additional hour to get to the Wisteria Garden. We were fortunate to be able to see these locations while they're in full bloom, very beautiful sites.

The entire trip was very rushed due to the Golden Week heavy traffic jam. Despite the huge delay in the itinerary, we still managed to visit the two main attraction parks. Special thanks to our tour guide, bus driver, and cheers to the great weather today!
