1. The scenery of Yoichi and Otaru is truly stunning! The historic buildings and romantic streets make you want to linger. 2. Today, I tasted fresh seafood in Otaru, especially sushi and seafood bowls. The taste was delicious and left me wanting more! 3. The visit to the whisky distillery in Yoichi was very interesting. I learned a lot about whisky production and also got to taste delicious whisky! 4. The scenery of Otaru is very beautiful! 6. Today's itinerary was very well arranged, with both cultural experiences and gourmet food. It was truly an unforgettable trip! 7. The residents of Yoichi and Otaru are very friendly, making our journey full of warmth. We look forward to coming back again!

Upon arrival, head straight from the airport with your luggage to start your journey without wasting the first day's itinerary. Especially in winter Hokkaido, where transportation can be unpredictable, we recommend signing up for a tour.

Andy was charming and gave us tips on what to buy and what not to buy. We were lucky to have good weather during the tour. It was a challenge to finish the Cape Kamui walk, but the views were breathtaking and rewarding. The Shakotan tunnel was also interesting, with a soft-serve ice cream and souvenir shop. We had lunch in Otaru, where Andy showed us a very good seafood restaurant. It was fun just walking around afterward. Shiroi Koibito was also fascinating, where you can take many Instagram-worthy photos. It's already near Sapporo, which was great to know that we arrived early at the endpoint.

Our tour guide, Michelle, is from Hong Kong and speaks authentic Cantonese. Her service is professional and her attitude is friendly – excellent, excellent, excellent! Even with only three participants, the tour still proceeded, feeling like a private guided experience – excellent, excellent, excellent! With fewer people, there's no waiting, we visited many attractions, and the playtime was quite sufficient. Of course, if I went by myself, I could stay longer, but walking on snowy ground in winter is inconvenient. If there's a blizzard, having point-to-point car transfers would be even better. I will definitely join again next time I visit.

Weather and views were great. If you are there to eat fishes instead of look at fishes, like us, try Minshuku Aotsuka Shokudou!! Seafood was so fresh, food was amazing! 🤤

If you're not driving yourself but still want to see Hokkaido's Shakotan Blue, I recommend this itinerary. Cape Kamui is beautiful. I walk quite fast, but I still couldn't reach the lighthouse within the allotted time because the end of the trail is very narrow, allowing only one person to pass at a time, so it's impossible to speed up when there are many people. During sea urchin season, remember to choose the freshly shucked sea urchin rice option! For fruits, just pick whatever is ripe and in season. Tenguyama was the last stop, but due to time constraints in summer, we had to descend before dark. If you also want to see one of Hokkaido's three major night views, you can do what I did: leave the group at Tenguyama, enjoy the night view, then descend and stay overnight in Otaru. The next day, you can continue exploring Otaru. The tour guide, a lovely lady, introduced each attraction during the trip and carefully reminded everyone of things to note, taking care of every group member. There weren't too many people that day, so a medium-sized bus was arranged, which wasn't too crowded and was quite comfortable.

Our Chinese guide arrived early, and it was fascinating and enjoyable to hear them switch between Chinese, Japanese, and English. This multinational tour, with a small group from China, the Philippines, India, and Korea traveling together in a van, made for a special and memorable experience. The detailed and engaging explanations about Shakotan Blue, Otaru Canal, and Shiroi Koibito Chocolate Factory kept us entertained throughout the day tour. Shakotan Blue and Cape Kamui, as the northernmost points, offered a breathtaking experience of rugged, majestic, and vast nature. In that moment, all worries and concerns seemed to dissipate. Even as the raindrops grew heavier, the path to the summit was so magnificent that getting wet was no bother at all. The stunning sea, cliffs, and other natural wonders, along with the swaying reed fields—lying down and swaying together with them! Although the weather became windier and rainier, the Otaru Canal was even more picturesque after the rain. It made me wonder if this was what the amazing early modern period felt like—a feeling of stepping back in time, where industry began, a truly romantic city! The guide's emphasis on Otaru as a romantic city was spot on. It was great to have three hours there, and also good that there was a large duty-free shop with a wide selection of gifts. Finally, the Shiroi Koibito Chocolate Factory was a charming, beautiful, and fun place with a strong European flair. The driver was also incredibly kind, which was a plus. I'm grateful to have visited Sapporo and experienced such wonderful outskirts, the pristine sea, reeds, wind, and clouds. I already miss it.
