Legitimately had such an amazing time and learning experience. We booked 1 day 2 instructors, instructor Soler for the 3 newbies in our group and instructor Ma for the rest of us 3 "intermediate" ones. It was a blast with Ma and learned a lot of crucial skiing exercises, drills and tech. Had fun exploring the mountain together, lots of jokes and fun. Even though the 6 hours was up, he was happy to take us overtime through more fun courses before heading back to the resort. Genuinely such a great experience, wish we booked 1 more day of tutoring.
This time, a total of five of us took Coach Lao Gao's class. Since we were all beginners, Coach Lao Gao showed immense patience, meticulously guiding us from putting on helmets, snowboards, and boots. He provided one-on-one instruction and practice time for each student, constantly checking back on everyone's progress. His dedicated coaching was so impressive that even passersby came to inquire if they could book his lessons. Overall, we give Coach Lao Gao's teaching a perfect score. However, Klook's communication department for course arrangements was a bit inconvenient and slow to respond. We only managed to get in touch on the day of skiing, and from the time of booking until the skiing day, we had no idea if a coach had been assigned. We highly recommend Coach Lao Gao! His supportive teaching style made us feel confident and stress-free while skiing.
I'm extremely satisfied with this single-board lesson! Coach OJay is the main reason we had such a great time these past two days! Since the number of participants was exactly the maximum of 4, the coach worked very hard running up and down to teach everyone ≧ω≦. He also patiently helped us check our boots. Because our skill levels were slightly different, with two of us having some prior experience and the other two being complete beginners, OJay diligently tailored his teaching to each individual. This allowed every student to practice what was suitable for them within the limited time. The coach not only has a great temper and never gets angry when we ask many questions ٩(^ᴗ^)۶, but most importantly, his photography skills are superb! He not only takes photos but also records videos! He even focuses ( ̄▽ ̄)~*! Everyone got videos to post on Instagram, which made us very happy! Lastly, and most importantly, we spent these two days very safely. He also made the complete beginners fall in love with snowboarding. I highly recommend it to everyone – it was a very satisfying experience!
This year's new Klook product, I initially tried it with a 'just-to-see' attitude, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise with incredibly high value for money. A 3-hour, one-on-two lesson was only 40,000 JPY. I booked 3-hour snowboard lessons for January 28th and January 30th. On the first day, our instructor was Nita. Regarding the teaching: My college senior son learned falling leaf last year and this year mastered toe side, C-turn, and S-turn. I, the mother, learned how to get on and off the lift and glide on one foot last year, and this year I learned falling leaf and can precisely control my direction. Regarding the instructor's quality: Nita was friendly and proactively checked on us throughout the entire process, showing immense teaching enthusiasm. This helped the two beginners get into the swing of things faster. We unexpectedly learned a lot and even went on the blue run. The instructor took many photos for us. It was already past 4:15 PM, the end of the lesson, and I thought we would just say goodbye. Unexpectedly, my son's inner left foot was chafed and bleeding from his snow boot. Nita busily helped him change boots twice, and it was almost 5:00 PM when we finished. It was truly touching. In conclusion, for safety and learning efficiency, hiring an instructor is a must.
A perfect experience! We met Kai, a very enthusiastic and attentive instructor. Although I had been to indoor ski resorts a few times before, I hadn't quite mastered it. For my first outdoor skiing experience, I decided to hire an instructor, and Coach Kai taught us meticulously and clearly. He knew we were "old bones" with injuries, so he took extra special care of us. After two days of training, under Coach Kai's guidance, we took the first lift up, and he explained the route down very clearly. Overall, this experience was superb. If I get the chance to come again, I'll definitely find an instructor to further improve. Thank you, Coach Kai.
Many thanks to Coach Jiajia for her patient guidance. Although our family of four had already practiced on a ski simulator in Taiwan, we were still practically beginners on the snow due to our lack of athletic ability. The friction coefficient on snow is completely different, requiring us to re-adapt. Coach Jiajia patiently re-taught us everything from the 'pizza' (snowplow) to the 'french fries' (parallel skiing) techniques. We kept getting stuck on the pizza turn (also known as the snowplow turn) because we couldn't consistently shift our weight fully onto the downhill ski, making our turns very unstable. Coach Jiajia repeatedly took us up the chairlift, practicing by sliding down the beginner slope multiple times, allowing us to experience skiing while also learning through practice. Although we still wanted to learn the french fries turn and braking, we were tired and our leg strength was diminishing, making control even harder. So, Coach Jiajia also accompanied us on a beginner slope exploration, allowing us to experience another kind of fun. It's truly more reassuring to have someone accompany you up the mountain. Time flew by quickly, and our time was soon up. It was getting dark, so we reluctantly said goodbye to the coach. We hope to book half-day lessons next year so we can learn properly under ample conditions. This course offers great value for money, and they even helped us take photos and videos, leaving us with many wonderful memories!
The coach was very patient, especially with my little boy who lost interest halfway through. As first-timers, we did learn new snowboarding skills. The coach waited for us for more than 20 minutes past our 9 am meeting time, even though we were among the first in line for ski rental. The resort ski rental staff gave us ski boots instead of snowboard boots. We had to walk all the way back to the boots section to change to snowboard boots. It was difficult to walk up and down the stairs in ski boots. Time was wasted. We will book again if we return for skiing.
I booked this for 3 days for my son and I and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The whole process was seamless; they contacted us one day before our booking, with clear instructions on where to meet and who our instructor was. Most importantly, Coach Yusin was very understanding and patient, especially towards my son. Upon seeing that he was struggling with his board, she helped him carry it every time we had to climb up the slope. With her guidance, we managed to pick up the basics of snowboarding in just a short while and were confident enough to try snowboarding at a greater height. Trying to get on the chair lift for the first time and snowboarding down from a higher spot was really exhilarating and we wouldn’t have been able to do that without the help of the coach. Greatly appreciate the pics and videos she took for us as well and would definitely recommend this activity to everyone.
This time, I booked a 3-hour twin-tip ski lesson through Klook for my 5 and 7-year-old children. Coach Ray introduced them to skiing for the first time, and they had an absolute blast, even riding the gondola and skiing down 4 times! We're so grateful to the coach for taking videos of the kids that made them look like expert skiers, and it also allowed my husband and me to have some time to ski on our own. This was truly an excellent quality of instruction and experience. We highly recommend booking this if you visit Hoshino Resorts Tomamu!
Double board designated Coach Xuan! On the first day, my partner and I signed up for a 3-hour private beginner lesson. Coach Xuan guided us step-by-step from familiarizing ourselves with the double board and triangle braking to getting us out of the beginner area. Later, wanting to seize the opportunity to improve, I signed up for a second session and specifically requested the same Coach Xuan from the previous day. This time, he taught me how to ski directly down the mountain. It's hard to imagine that I had no skiing experience at all before the day before yesterday! Thanks to Coach Xuan's patient and personalized teaching methods, we were able to fully enjoy the fun of skiing.
