The tour bus departed punctually at 8 AM. There is no time for breakfast, so it is advisable to have a light meal before departure. Eating is not permitted on the tour bus. Lunch will be served around 11:30 AM in Canberra after a 3.5-hour drive. There are awesome views at Lake Burley Griffin and the Australian Parliament House. Time for taking photos is a bit limited considering the number of venues we need to visit. Nevertheless, it was a great experience overall.
A nice and must-do 1-day trip to complete my 2-week trip to Australia. Although it was a long 3.5-hour drive each way between Sydney and Canberra, a good, delicious lunch was included in the package. We had lunch at 11:30 AM so that we could do the sightseeing without any disruption. Beautiful weather, beautiful pictures.
Our driver (and guide), Jack Kuo, was very friendly and provided professional and detailed explanations. The itinerary was well-planned and timed perfectly. He was also very patient and took great photos for us. It was a wonderful day trip.
Our 8-person small group transfer bus was very luxurious. The tour guide provided detailed explanations of Canberra's urban design and architecture, and lunch was delicious.
This Canberra trip was my first time using Klook. I originally planned to rent a car and drive from Sydney to Canberra myself. The round trip is nearly 600 kilometers, and for someone unfamiliar with driving in Australia, even at an average speed of 100 km/h, it would still take 6 hours of driving. Ultimately, booking a tour through Klook was incredibly convenient, taking only 15 minutes to complete. In summary, a join-in tour is better than driving yourself, because driving for 6 hours or more would be very tiring, leaving no energy to enjoy the trip. Plus, finding your way would take time, and you might end up spending more time on transportation. If you unfortunately take a wrong turn, you might not even reach all destinations before they close, missing some target attractions. Fortunately, the tour guide's driving skills were excellent, shortening the travel time. The guide also provided detailed explanations, allowing all tour members to learn a lot about the background of Australia's capital, Canberra.
The tour was great even though it was delayed by a traffic jam (caused by another vehicle's accident). Our guide Jackie is courteous and responsive. He adjusted the route to ensure we could visit each scenic point mentioned in the itinerary. He is also professional and well-prepared to answer our questions.
We boarded the bus at the Holiday Inn in Chinatown. We were informed of the driver's name and license plate number in advance. To be honest, the one-way trip from Sydney to Canberra takes 3.5 hours, making it 7 hours round trip, so the time spent in Canberra felt quite rushed. Our first stop in Canberra was for lunch. It was a Chinese banquet-style meal, and the dishes were quite good, with generous portions. Then we visited several free venues, where we only had time to take a few photos before getting back on the bus. Parliament House was where we spent the longest. Finally, we went up Mount Ainslie before heading back. The tour guide and driver was a Taiwanese gentleman. His organizational skills weren't great, and his communication skills were also lacking. He gave a very ordinary introduction and didn't manage to create any atmosphere. Looking back, it felt like we had been there, but without any real impression. And finally, we had to pay a tip! This was the only Australian tour I've taken that explicitly required a tip, and it was 6 AUD per person. The gentleman even said he couldn't give change if we didn't have exact money, and he couldn't remember who had paid and who hadn't. It was a complete mess…
The tour was rushed, but that's understandable since we only had one day to explore Canberra. Ray was a really efficient guide!
