this trip is one for the books. well organized. a little bit crunched on the time but it was definitely worth it. if you’re into perfumes and want to expand your collection, Andorra is the place to buy some. I wish I bought more than one. Price is truly cheaper there.
The tour goes through very scenic places. The ride itself is very enjoyable seeing through the window. The guide Ana was very pleasant and although the trip is a bit packed but her attitude was relaxed and we never felt hurried.
The scheduled day trip to Andorra was originally set to depart at 7:00 AM, but due to the travel agency's reasons, it was delayed until 7:50 AM, which was a bit frustrating. After all, the entire group arrived early at the meeting point, getting up before dawn, only to wait for nearly an hour, so a little disappointment was inevitable. Fortunately, once the trip started, everything went smoothly! The three stops throughout the journey were excellently arranged: the first stop was a former French fortress, now transformed into a beautiful small village, with scenery along the way that was truly "picture-perfect," immediately elevating the trip's excitement; the second stop, the Andorra viewpoint, offered a panoramic view of majestic mountains, a breathtaking sight that was refreshing; finally, free time in Andorra city for shopping and sightseeing at leisure. The tour guide not only planned the itinerary reasonably but also explained things in detail and vividly, and the driver was steady and reliable, providing a great sense of security. Compared to figuring out transportation on your own, this itinerary offered the unique experience of a French border village and the chance to ascend to a viewpoint to admire the mountain scenery, making it incredibly cost-effective! Although there was a slight delay in departure, it was a minor flaw in an otherwise perfect experience, absolutely 100% recommended!
This journey, starting from the bustling city center of Barcelona and venturing deep into the Pyrenees, crossing borders and stepping into different countries and cultures, left me with profound and warm memories. Our first stop was Mont-Louis in southern France, a high-altitude fortress town nestled in the mountains. At an elevation of 1600 meters, it is one of the highest fortresses in all of France. The town retains the military architectural style of the 17th century Louis XIV era, peaceful and unadorned. Walking along the stone-walled paths, with the vast Pyrenean landscape before my eyes, my heart was filled only with 'tranquility' and 'beauty.' The town's cheese shops, churches, and streets rich in history, every corner made one feel the passage of time. Afterward, we crossed an invisible border to the duty-free paradise – Andorra. Andorra surprised me because it's not just a place for shopping, but a small country that blends Spanish and French cultures while maintaining its own unique rhythm. The streets were bustling with people and lined with shops, yet stepping into the alleys, one could still feel a hint of the mountain town's serenity. Especially the local delicacies and specialties like cheese, olive oil, and perfumes were irresistible. Throughout the entire trip, I am most grateful to our tour guide Blanca and the gentle and steady female driver. Blanca was more than just a guide; she was like a friend on the journey. Her explanations were vivid and interesting, not only teaching us about the local history and culture but also incorporating many heartwarming personal stories. With Catalan passion, she made us feel warm in a foreign land. And the driver's skills were incredibly stable, especially on the winding mountain roads, which made us feel very safe. On the way back, as the setting sun streamed through the car window, Blanca softly said, "We're almost back in Barcelona." At that moment, I suddenly felt a little reluctant to leave. This day was like a condensed journey through life, from city to mountain town, from national borders to states of mind. Thank you, Blanca. Thank you, Madam Driver. This journey was especially moving because of you. I hope to have the opportunity in the future to follow you again and discover more corners of the world.
¡Recomendado!
This was a full day (7am to 7pm) tour. Our guide was Lorena. She explained things well in English and Spanish. First stop was breakfast stop before heading to Mont-Louis. Long bus ride but the view is scenic. In Andorra, it was free and easy in the shopping area to look for lunch. Lorena said the church was closed. Maybe not enough time to visit. Then it was another 3 hours bus ride back to Barcelona. Go for this one day tour if you have extra day in Barcelona, and chance to visit another 2 countries.
The trip was amazing, Lorena and the boss lady driver (I forgot her name) were both fantastic and professional. The itinerary was a bit tight (I mean, it's a long drive and the bus doesn't have a toilet itself), so in that regard, for me, who has a bladder problem, it was a bit of an issue. But all in all, the trip was naturally blissful. Regards, Mae👋
That was an amazing experience for me. I didn't know that I had gone to the place with such beautiful nature. The tour guide was very polite and kind. However, it was a very cold day. I recommend that we bring a warm jacket and some hot tea.
