Avaliações
The shop staff had a great service attitude; you can communicate with simple English or gestures (I used simple Japanese). Whether you wear clothes inside is up to you. They provide socks, a small bag (when I chose, almost only dark blue was left), and a photo (they take the photo after you put on the kimono, and give it to you when you return the clothes). I highly recommend paying extra for hair styling! The hairstylist was very professional and quick. The children were also very happy in their kimonos (for the children, since they had short hair, we brought our own hair accessories and didn't pay extra). I also recommend booking the first slot (the Shirokaku-en branch starts earlier than Suizenji). There weren't many people, so we could choose our favorite styles, but there were fewer light-colored options; I only saw two I liked. There were also fewer patterns available for children's heights. When we returned around noon, the shop was very busy with many people just starting to get dressed, so they weren't free to help us and asked us to come back in 20 minutes. Also, Klook's customer service was ridiculous; they kept saying the meeting point was at Suizenji Jojuen, but you actually just go directly to the shop at Sakuranobaba Josaien. The customer service was unprofessional, and I later reported to them that their information was incorrect.
The shop is located in the Josaien shopping street, with convenient parking. There's a decent selection of kimonos, so you can still find one you like. The staff patiently helped us choose and coordinate kimonos and accessories, and the process was quick and smooth. There's room for improvement with the hair styling; it wasn't quite satisfactory and easily came loose. After getting dressed, we walked from Josaien to Kumamoto Castle. The children were very interested in the history of Kumamoto Castle, slowly walking from the ground floor to the top, and then taking photos around, which took about 2 hours. Everyone was a bit tired (especially those unaccustomed to wearing geta)...... Although it was sunny that day, it was very windy, and our hair got messy, which dampened our mood for taking photos! So, we didn't get a chance to use the Suizenji admission tickets provided by the shop, which was a shame!
The shop is located within the Castle Town Garden. Although the staff only speak Japanese, communication is not an issue. The staff are very quick at helping you change into a kimono. They provide socks, a small bag, and a photo. Kumamoto Castle is nearby, and you can also pay extra to return the kimono at the Castle Town Garden shop.
Kumamoto Castle has many great spots for photos, so it's better to book the one at Josaien. There's only one lady in charge of helping with kimono selection and changing, so she can't attend to everyone when it's busy. The price is affordable, and you can wear the kimono all day, even returning it at the shop in front of Suizenji Temple.
1. The staff were friendly. 2. The dressing process was efficient. 3. The socks provided were patterned cotton socks, and a small bag was also given. 4. You can start exploring immediately after dressing up inside Seongchae-won, and there are many great photo opportunities. 5. I brought my elders to experience it, and they were very happy.
If you have beautiful kimono, a hairstyle is essential. The staff did it very quickly, and even though it was windy, my hair stayed perfect all day. There were also many hair accessories to choose from.
Easy to redeem, the yukata styles are decent, and the shop also provides advice on color coordination! I'll choose this kimono shop again next time!
Our experience with the Kumamoto Castle & Josaien Kimono and Yukata Experience was very enjoyable overall, with the Klook booking process being smooth and convenient, making the activity easy to access and manage. The pricing feels reasonable considering both the cultural experience and the beautiful historical surroundings included. The facilities were clean, organized, and tourist-friendly, with staff assisting properly during the kimono and yukata dressing process. Staff were polite, patient, and helpful, ensuring a comfortable experience throughout the activity. The highlight was walking around the Kumamoto Castle and Josaien area while wearing traditional Japanese attire, which created a very authentic and memorable atmosphere. The experience also offered great opportunities for photography and cultural immersion. Overall, it is a unique and worthwhile activity for travelers wanting to experience a traditional side of Japan.
The weather was quite cold that day. We had originally booked for 4 PM, but after inquiring, the shop allowed us to experience the Japanese kimono earlier. Their service was very friendly and the attitude was excellent. However, hair and makeup incur an additional charge.
1. The shop staff had a great service attitude; simple English or gestures were enough for communication (I communicated using simple Japanese). 2. Whether or not to wear an undershirt is up to you. They provide socks, a small bag (when choosing, almost only dark blue was left), and a photo (they take your picture after you're dressed, and give you the photo when you return the clothes). 3. I highly recommend paying extra for hair styling! The hairstylist is very professional and quick. 4. The children were also very happy wearing kimonos (for the children, since they had short hair, we brought our own hair accessories and didn't pay extra). 5. I suggest booking the first slot (the Shirochabaru Josaien branch starts earlier than Suizenji). There weren't many people, so we could choose our favorite styles leisurely. However, there were fewer light-colored options; I only saw two that I liked. For children, there were also fewer patterns available for their height. When we returned around noon, the shop was very busy with many people just starting to get dressed, and they weren't free to assist us immediately, so they asked us to come back in 20 minutes to return the items. 6. Also, Klook's customer service was ridiculous; they kept saying to meet at Suizenji Jojuen, but you actually just go directly to the shop at Sakuranobaba Josaien (it's on the right after you enter). Klook's customer service was unprofessional. I later reported to them directly that their information was incorrect, but even now, the website still hasn't updated the information.
