This is an excellent tour with a fantastic tour guide. Akie did beautifully showing me around and explaining the culture and history of Hiroshima/Miyajima. I'd definitely recommend that everyone if they have a chance to experience this tour!! 😁
This trip was the highlight of our 2-week trip to Japan. The museum was a moving and emotional experience, seeing the devastation of 1945 through the eyes of the population at that time. However, the sadness of 1945 was beautifully balanced by spending 8 hours with our lovely tour guide, Utsukushi, a 73-year-old lady. At the end of our tour, it was truly like saying goodbye to a relative.
Our tour guide is Mr. Kiyoshi Dobara - he is a Certified National Guide. We met at the Shinkansen gate, Hiroshima Station. He is kind and explained every spot in all the places we visited. Even before we arrived in Miyajima, he told stories about the areas we passed by on the train. From Hiroshima Station, we went to Miyajimaguchi Port using the JR train, then took a ferry to visit Itsukushima Shrine and Otorii. During lunch, we had very delicious raw oysters at Kakiya restaurant. From the island, we continued by boat to the Atomic Bomb Dome. We started by visiting the hypocenter, the dome, the kindergarten, Peace Memorial Park, and the museum. At 4 PM, we returned to Hiroshima Station.
Our guide made our experience wonderful, he was a knowledgable local of the area that was able to give personal and historical reference regarding the area we were in. He was able to also give recommendations on places to eat and visit in the area as well as tips for getting around the city. This tour was the highlight of our trip because of our guide, you could see how much pride he had in his home town. We have been on quite a bit of tours though various websites and this was the best we have been on. Highly recommended.
Miyajima was one of the best parts of my Japan trip! Such a beautiful place. Our guide very thoughtfully brought us to an area where there were few tourists so we could take excellent photos. It’s a heavy day to combine with Hiroshima highlights, but I think it works well.
Our guide Joe was fantastic. He contacted us before the tour to ensure the day ran smoothly for us. He gave us a wonderful insight into Hiroshima and the peace museum. We then went to Miyajima Island where he explained and showed us all the traditions at the shrine and temple. Our whole family had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Joe as a guide.
Our tour guide Kumiko is the best. We learned a lot from her not only about history, culture, food... She even showed us the nearby shops. Highly recommended tour with her.
Natsuko was the best guide ever, at the beginning we started fascinated with the beauty and the history of the Miyajima island, and then when we go to Hiroshima everything change and we got hit by the reality of that horrible situation, was heartbreaking. best guide and best activity to do in a whole day in Hiroshima
Joe was a fabulous guide. He has such knowledge and passion for the history of Hiroshima and it was a pleasure to spend the day with him. I want to thank the tour company for its accommodation and ensuring that we were able to see everything on our list in our allotted time. Highly recommended.
